51 Hours Promo 12"

I was hoping I may get some clarification on this promo. Is this promo a test pressing like the I Wish U Heaven color vinyl or is it like the other promo 12" (i.e. Scandalous, New Power Generation, Mountains, etc)? I hav heard it described as an in house promo. I have been debating on whether I want to add this to my collection (when I get the funds) or if I should cross it off my list. I do not collect test pressings. Any help and clarification on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It's not a test pressing... it's a 'regular' promo.

Though in the case of this particular track, the promos were pressed but never
officially released or distributed (which is why it sometimes gets tagged as an
'in house' item, when it technically isn't). They are only 'in house' in that they
just sat in a box at Paisley Park gathering dust (until some 'escaped').

If you add that to your collection it may be one of the best items you have. My suggestion, save up and get it.

^ It's possible (though I hadn't heard of this before). It certainly wasn't
generally sent out to people. I'm sure Prince probably played it clubs on a
few occasions, and I expect he gave copies to a few friends.

What's on it?
Are tracks the same as released versions?
I have the Gett Off! (damn near 10min vinyl) which I love.

it's kind of a pointless track, IMHO. certainly not worth paying alot of $$ for, except from a collector standpoint.

although the copy I have from the work isn't the best sound quality, unfortunately.

I ddon't know why this song gets such a bad rap. I like it. I'm not ashamed of shelling out the money for the 12" single.

The track itself is not bad. I think the 12" is a nice touch to any collection. I really appreciate the input. Thanks again.

Yeah realized I had it all along on ..ahem.. "a collection" of mine.
Not too good quality, generally. Nice to have on vinyl though.
