DREAMER - Prince's best studio track in 20 years!

I just cannot stop listening to this track, I absolutely love everything about it.

It seriously is superb, over and over, just gets better and better!

I say his best recorded track in 20 years!

i love this track too but it's not his best studio track in 20 years. i think Colonized Mind is better than this one.

I agree...The "Taget Commercial," would be a great video...and I wish it would be released to the radio as a single...and then..."4Ever..." cool

It's okay, but it sounds like Kravitz doing one of his Hendrix impressions.

And it also reminds me of Live 4 Love.

Yes, this song kills it. Especially LOUD.

I can say, that in the last 20 years no Prince song, on first listen, hit me as hard as this one.

I think Lotusflow3r as a whole is one of this best albums in at least, if not 20, at least last 10-15 years. Dreamer, Boom, FGFBFW, Wall of Berlin, Colonized Mind... all really top notch

i like 'dreamer' because it perfectly invokes the 1995 live sound.

I like it, but it was better the first time I heard it when it was called "Voodoo Chile (Slight Return)"

The ending. Oh man. The way he spouts the lyrics about helicopters and chemicals while we sleep. He was feelin it when he recorded this muthafucka.

I like the song, don't get me wrong, but every time I hear it I can't help but think it sounds like Prince imitating Ben Harper covering Hendrix.

the studio version is alright, but i prefer the song live, like on leno and especially on that new conga room boot headbang. faster and he sings it, rather than rap/talk it which i like better cool. too hendrix-esque to be a classic "prince" song, but awesomeness nonetheless thumbs up! guitar. colonized mind is the complete opposite, amazing studio version and somewhat lackluster on both live versions i've heard confused

This track is awesome. I'd love to see a performance of this, I bet he's rocking out like a maniac. Conjures up strange memories Dirty Mind, 1999, Purple Rain era Prince.

He was definitely on one the day(s) he was laying this down.

Dreamer? Imo. that is not the greatest track since 1989.....

oh, there are so many much greater tracks:

Joy In Repetition
Thieves In The Temple,
The Question Of U,
Gett Off,
Diamonds And Pearls,
Insatiable,
Money Don't matter 2 Night,
Sexy MF,
The Morning Papers,
7,
Gold,
Shhh,
TMBGITW,
Eye Hate U,

- this is just to name a few songs - better than Dreamer,

IMO... don't hate me now lol,

Dreamer is okay but not the greatest since 1989 biggrin
Prince 4Ever. heart

It's good. Real good. I would put it in my Top20 of the last 20 years. I like to listen to Calhoun Square after I listen to Dreamer. I've got to find some other tracks that I can put with Dreamer to make a Prince rock album.

Yup yup. $ is just pure, classic Prince. Dreamer, while top-notch, does come off a little derivative.

I agree totally. This track rocks and is one of the best from the entire album. Just wish he would release an entire album with such tracks as this one.
