He knows. He's also let that effect him in that he knows he can put out not-the-greatest material, and his fanatical lovers (US) will buy it but for the mere sake of collecting his shizz.

On the other hand, he's grateful for that I think, to some degree, and he (at least) tries to satisfy his fans with freebies or a concert, or a deal, or whatever. I also think he's out of touch with people struggling financially, especially when he's charging near 100 bucks for a website that has offered nothing that exclusive. All the TV performances, from what I hear, the videos, and the albums....I already have them all. Why would I pay 77 bucks for some fancy flash, a t-shirt, and one bonus track?

So yeah, he knows he's loved. He just takes advantage of that sometimes. That's when we get all bitchy, like a woman scorned. God, he's like Francis L, and we're like the beaten wife. We keep coming back for more. He tells us "I Would Die 4 U", and we say "You never let us have ANY fun."

yeah, was just watching that performance on ellen again and the first verse, after the "come here and sock it to me one time" line, he lets out a chuckle and a smile and i'm like "god, i love this fucking guy!" . can't put to words the feeling . obviously i don't know him personally and would never claim to from his work and i know full well of his mortality unlike some folks . as a performer, watching and listening to him play and his songs, he has brought an immense amount of joy and excitement into my otherwise rather dismal life and for that i thank him . can't describe it, but no other artist moves me the way he does. he's just...my favorite . can't say that i enjoy everything he does, but when i do, it just shits on everything else easily . could go on for days about the motherfucker, but yeah, princey rocks and is loved...by me, forever
