You're misinformed. Who do you think allowed samples of his songs when he was still with Warner Bros? He didn't own his songs back then, so why is it different now if he doesn't own them? Still having publishing right and royalty rights, he has a say in who samples his music and who doesn't, and who covers it and who doesn't. He still has a say in what WB puts out with his name on it (which is why we'll NEVER hear the great gems sitting and rotting away in the vault.) | |
