I should've clarified... seamless, as in musically.

yes, that's what i meant. you can almost hear a jump in the "tape" when it cuts from electric to acoustic.

That could have been from editing or how it was punched in, but the note on which he morphs into the acoustic works beautifully in transition.

sorry to say that this is defintely a low point on LF. He's done this kind of thing much better on more appropriate albums. He totally kills the flow of this CD with this so-so instumental. It could have been a killer track cause that's where the beginning takes you than ugh...

It actually takes me right 2 Stevie Wonder's 'Secret Life of Plants', and also reminds me of some traditional Italian melodies.

ditto.

so glad it went in the direction it did but, what also makes it interesting is what this transaction is trying to say. Its obvious it has deeper meanings.

Yes, curious. There's a heartbeat that turns to a storm of sorts, then laughter and romance. The ending note is interesting too, very pronounced and final.

The electric guitar intro morphs in2 the acoustic musical beauty that follows it. It is seamless. As a diverse musician and guitarist myself, I LOVE 2 hear this side of Prince, and even being aware of what he's capable of, I was still blown away by his melody and chordal melodies.

Giovanni, I agree with you about being blown away. Although, I am not crazy about the song, and I really did want to hear him expand on the brief intro, I was impressed by his ability to play this style of guitar. The song sounds incomplete to me, like he is feeling his way through this new approach to playing. Ironically, that is what impresses me about it. It is a true musician at work, learning something new and challenging himself. I don't dig the song itself because it doesn't go anywhere for me, but as a musician and music fan, I really respect and admire what it represents.

ya know not to be cynical, but even if that part did expand, I can bet there would be ppl finding something wrg with it, I like the fact that it is a mystery and all we can do is wonder at this point in what fashion it may be expanded. Maybe he will release and extended version to his Lotusflow3r members, you never know, Prince is a like one giant surprise

I love it, too. It starts off dark and turbulent and painful...and becomes sunny and peaceful and warm. It's as if every shred of emotional turmoil he's been through for years just falls away.

I said in the beginning that it makes me want to sit in a warm, sunny courtyard, drinking sangria and eating olives. This music comes from a place of joy and contentment. No Prince song has given me that kind of feeling since Alexa de Paris. (Although that wasn't so much contentment as wild, unbridled joy.)

Hummnnn, in Wall of Berlin he talks about hearing the thunder b4 the lightening strikes. Perhaps this is the musical version of those same words?

I like this song, but I don't understand the intro.
Maybe outside of the song (outside of his home) is wild and all,
but inside of his home, it's a haven?

I like this song when I'm driving, it makes me think of strolling through vineyards in the late afternoon just before the sun goes down.
