PussiDelicious

but it's not about being multiplatinum for Prince, rather multiplatform.

"When I'm taking all the proceeds, I don't worry about how well it does on the charts and I don't need a No. 1

this pretty much sums up why his output has changed so dramatically in sound
for both good and bad

Just got a comment or 2 and a question.

Obviously, it is up to us what we buy and don't buy. Also, if U don't like this 1st venture of the LotusFlow3r project then jump ship and find another pad to lay on. To be honest, how many here do like anything from these latest releases ?

Actually I love that fact that he keeps The Lion's Share, it is the way I know personally I would love to do things myself. Whenever I view that American Bandstand performance from back in '79' with Dick Clark, I look into Prince's eyes and I see a very young man with a Mission in his eyes. All I have to say his longevity continues since then and will continue to go on I believe as long as he is alive and gone thereafter (if that ever happens).

This is what I call Legacy. In-Joy the Ride because ...

It Ain't Over !!!

He has stayed ahead of the game in most cases. I think the Target pricing was in genius move on his part cause it made his price affordable for everyone and meant that it made a great gift for you to share with others like I did with 3 of my brothers. There is simply something on the discs for everyone. He didn't have to do the one off deals that he has been doing for the last few years.

The question is will he go back to the big labels once he's done with this project.

Oh, so he was okay with it when one company he worked with put some extra tracks on a CD single?

If he "knows how to play this game", how come he has to come up with lame stunts each time, instead of letting the music speak for itself?

What is it like to be mentally challenged? I said I do not know if he will get a million this time around but he sure has sold more than a million concert tickets so he has got a chance. Back in 2000 no one believed he will sell out large arenas but he has managed to do it. In fact I remember you were one of the naysayers.

The stunts are called PR and marketing and considering how Prince does the bear minimum I do not get your point. Prince started out opening for Rick James, Zapp, Gap Band and a whole other host of people who not recording music much less touring.

30 years this guy has kept it rolling. Now perhaps you do not like the music fine but, someone does and as long as he can make a profit and continue in business I think you are going to see music from this guy. In my mind he understands the game.

Right now I'm very disappointed that I spent $77 on that site. It hasn't changed hardly at all! How about something new every once in awhile? Nothing new means that after that initial weekend, nobody will join this site. Why should they? I'm telling you now, if you were thinking about joining, DON'T! They need to keep adding to the site. If they start adding, then join. Just my opinion.

And anothere thing. What he said is exactly why his music doesn't have to be "good." Multi-platform means he'll get his money no matter what. His fan base is so large, because of when his music sold on "ONE" platform, that he can bank on that every time. He could release one song on his site for .99 and make more money than we do in a year, easily. This is all based on the records he sold in the old system, based on his huge fan base. He isn't hungry, nothing pushing him at all. His art is suffering because he isn't anymore!

"Prince's revamped Web domain, appropriately Lotusflow3r.com, gives his loyal followers exclusive access to an array of film footage and music from the Purple One's "Vault" -- a library that contains an immense amount of unreleased material. At a lofty annual subscription price of $77, fans also will be treated to such perks as live-cam concerts from the mansion and first dibs at tickets for last-minute, unannounced gigs, which have become a Prince trademark. Prince works outside record labels biggrin
The Purple One eliminates the middleman - By ANTHONY D'ALESSANDRO

Lotusflow3r.com touts the highest-quality MP3s around at 320 kilobytes per second -- iTunes' typical average kbps is 192. There's also talk of a potential hookup with Microsoft's Xbox. eek

"

Wrong. iTunes is 256 kbps AAC. NOT MP3. AAC is far superior. Which is besides the point.

He should do what Wendy and Lisa do and sell his music track by track at .99. They have it figured out.

My signed Winter Flags of Chimneys is the best piece of memorabilia I have ever owned. Not to mention the LP which looks friggin' great!

PREACH! I feel exactly the same way.

The game he plays is the $$$ game. He plays it well. And he plays it by his rules not by how others are doing it and damn the fans. The "lame stunts" worked. And yes, I think since Musicology...more so since 3121, his stunts have been very lame.

Lotusflow3r.com is an inferior eyesore and a sham. Fans expecting to be bowled over with exclusive content will soon find that Prince is executing a flawless slight of hand. Buy the physical CD, catch a gig but avoid the rip-off website. confused

lol ... Wet.... Please dont B a "fanboy".

Look... I was a Sony guy... PS2 Nd NO XBOX... BUT Xbox360 Nd Live R Gr8 exclaim

While the Architecture of the PS3 processor is very innovative... It has proven 2 B very difficult 4 developers 2 work with.

Here R a few Xamples (although there R plenty others if U look).
Eg One. In Street Fighter IV, Anti-Aliasing is missing (so Ull C jaggies on the graphix edges)
Eg2. In the previous version of Madden they were only able 2 get the PS3 version 2 run @ 30 FPS(Frames Per 2nd), while the Xbox 360 had 60 FPS (no problem)... It took them a whole year 2 get it up 2 par on the PS3.

Although, Playstation's "Home" does look very intriguing Nd it would B a "Good Look" for LotusFlow3r 2 have N environment (I say this even tho I dont have a PS3)... Xbox's Live takes the cake with its service Nd has N install base that is much larger in the US alone (PS3s install base takes the cake in Japan)...

I am just happy 2 hear that it is a possibility Nd is Bing considered... However... It would B nice if they do both. thumbs up!

cool
