I already made a thread about this on housequake before it closed, but I wanted to get some Orgers opinions on it too.

What I wanna ask is....do you think that Prince could get away with singing "Sexy MF" in concert again? And WITHOUT using the expletives?

Back in 1994 or so, he did exactly that at one of the Glam Slam birthday party shows and it turned out just fine.

So, what about now? Oh, and bare in mind, this isn't really a "dirty" song. He even said that it was about monogamy.

Check out the lyrics... and don't blow ya load cos he drops "the F bomb" on ya several times.

Also, if you think he'll suddenly start performing it again and the audience will scream out "YOU SEXY MUTHAF*CKA!!!!" It's really no big deal.....cuz something like that already happened at Las Vegas when he sang "Lolita." He sang "long time ago" and the audience yelled out "WE'D BE THA SH*T!!!!"

Oh, one more thing...I've heard that he re-recorded this song with a "Chelsea Rodgers" type of beat behind it and the "Sexy MF" part replaced with a sample of "Gonna Make You Sweat" by C&C Music Factory....so if he's already done that, why not do it live?

I just can't see him doing Sexy MF live and not expect the audience to bite their tongues especially when he would be the one yelling out "you sexy" and the crowd would have to follow with the "mutha"@#$%"

The radio version...cuts out the MF...

I was actually thinking about this the other day! I wonder if he either added his trademark scream after "Mutha"(sample maybe?) or had the band add in a quick accent or something? It could work - He's a genius so he could figure out a way to do it if he wanted to. But I wish he would!

I heard this version a few times, actually.

Although I think one of the DJs must've mixed around with it in order to make it sound like that, cuz I don't recall hearing that version anywhere else except for that particular station.

The only other edited version that I was aware of was "Sexy Mutha," which was on the B-Side of the "My Name Is Prince" single.

Of course there was the other "radio edit" one on the censored version of the album where he replaced the cursing with a shriek.

Remember there was a censored version and it was the Scream at MF. But what about that part in which he sings Shaking That Ass..Shaking that Ass? I just don't think any of that MAYTE STUFF SUITS him ANYMORE. I personally like his Newer style better anyway. I like how he's changed his Direction that style was so OVERINDULGENT. I do miss his TYPHOON or D and P look and the silly Gangster Glam video with Prince and I miss the MICROPHONE GUN. I also miss TORA,TORA TORA with his all RED OUTFIT and SCARF and HAT and GLasses. He was really in OUTTA SPACE and OUTERWORLDLY back then. I dig that WILD MYSTIQUE thing he had going on.

Yeah but he performed "I Love You But I Don't Trust You Anymore" at the "One Nite Alone" concert...actually, no, I think it was at the second celebration. I could be wrong. Still, that was what? 2 years after they broke up. He sang it again recently. Also, he did "The Sun, Moon & Stars." recently. Mayte covered "Brick House" on her 1st and only album on NPG Records and he sang that at the Basement in Sydney back in '03. Is he over Mayte? Maybe....but he'll never stop performing the songs written for & about her....or others that may be associated with her, somehow some way. Same goes for all his other ex-girlfriends and what not.
