The Hissing of Prince Fans A few weeks ago, 50-year-old recording artist Prince released his 25th studio album LotUSFLOW3R, and truthfully, most of his old-school fans could care less. Though watching his three-night stint on Jay Leno was iceberg cold, the many diehard fans that bought Around the World in a Day on the first day of release or danced to the hypnotic "Get Off" when it was brand new know that the man lost his musical mojo years ago.

This is more about a writer re-living his youth then anything else. Anybody who expects the Prince of today to embody the prince of their youth or Prince's own youth are living in a delusion.
Prince simply is not 24 anymore and the pasion and freshness of youth are not his anymore. It happens to anyone who actually lives past being a young adult. What remains is still a very vital artist commenting on his life and the world as it is now. With a few nods to his past (see musicology that relates the story of prince as a child). people who have lost interest were only interested in Prince as phenonanom. Others are interested in Prince as a working musician. Only an absolute fool would think there are not worthwile music to be found on Lotusflow3r. Its funny how people fall all over themselves to praise Kanye west or some other current flavor who simply cannot and will not ever produce anything as good as Lotusflow3r.

I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I love that the writer held up Emancipation as being in the same category as 1999 and Sign O' The Times. "New Power slide...."

Yeah pretty lame article not just because of the premise, which anyone can argue but the execution.

It's "COULDN'T CARE LESS". If you "could care less", you would. If you really don't give a shit, you're at the bottom of your barrel of "caring", so you could NOT care any less than you do.

Very honest article, that nicely articulated what seems to be a growing consensus. I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

A growing Consensus? LotusFlow3r and Mplsound have been the best received albums by the Fans I would say since the internet has become wide spread. Musicology, 3121, Plant Earth, Lotus Flow3r and MPLSound have all received generally good reviews.
