Gospel Album

I would love to hear Prince do an all out gospel album with a choir and all that.

You could put one together of past songs that are gospel tinged:

Free
God
Purple Rain
Adore
You are My Sunshine
Still Would Stand All Time
Condition of the Heart

I think it would be awesome if he worked with Kirk Franklin. That would be hella funky!

Adore? I admit that I know little about gospel, but I think there are aspects of this song that don't fit the genre:
"You made love to me like you were afraid"
"I ain't fuckin just for kicks"

With that song he uses a gospel style of balladry with organ and layered vocals and vocal acrobatics. The lyrics are are romance...

Oh yeah there is that one on Rainbow Children...

The Ahdio show after 9/11 from NPGMC was very spiritual oriented. It'd be a good example of that if you could find it. he's done enough spiritual songs (aside from that trash that is The Rainbow Children), that you could format a nice EP sized playlist on your iTunes, I'm sure.

God
Purple Rain
Free
Gold
Still Would Stand All Time
The Ladder
Venus De Milo
The live version of "Forever In My Life"
Eye No
Anna Stasia
Positivity
And God Created Woman
The Love We Make
Saviour (although a love song, it has the vibe)
She Gave Her Angels
Love
Get On The Boat
Lion of Judah (yesssh, it's a stretch to even LISTEN to this song for me)

wasn't there a rumor a few years back that Prince had offered Patti Labelle a gospel album but she declined?
