Boo friggin' hoo. Whether he should or should not have felt hurt is somewhat besides the point I was trying to discuss. My question is, regardless of whether he should have, do you think he genuinely did feel hurt by WB and whether he may still do, at some level of consciousness? He still seems to be putting some of those vibes out. | |

I think that he felt betrayed by WB when they put him on the R&B division of WB records. Many old and new fans forget this and this was the critical point which led to the "slave" on his face deal. The reason why this was done was to limit Prince's ability to make good on his contract that required him to sell 2 million albums to collect his money.IMHO I think that payola was spread around to make Diamonds and Pearls & "Symbol hit albums with multiple top ten hits to get Prince to resign with with WB after that deal Prince only had 2 top ten hits since. WB fired all of the pro artist management that was left at WB .This not only hurt Prince but other major artists still on the label. WB has not been the same after they fired Medina and guys like him. Some interesting points, muleFunk, however, I'm not sure I follow the bolded point above. How could enabling hit records from D&P and Symbol influence P to resign? If I am understanding your logic correctly, that sounds like some kind of major conspiracy plan that would have needed to be thought out well in advance. | |
