Why do you say that? I don't own too much country music but I do think it is definitely quality music with quality musicians and I think it's a very respectable genre of music. From what I know, country music almost always involves live music and live instruments as well as quality songwriting.
Nothing personal, I just find your comment pretty ignorant.

Graycap is a black male. Even if he did like country, how welcome do you think he would be in the hole in the wall honkey tonks that play country music? Think about it and see if you find him ignorant for hating it.

But prince doing country? Nope. I think The 1 U Wanna C is about as close as it gets.

I don't want to see Garth Brooks do funky music or rap either lol

Aside from So Blue, is there any other song that shows Prince's mastery of the Country genre?

wait another 15 years prince, then call rick rubin....

now THAT i can be down with. biggrin

though i don't know if it would be rick rubin i would choose to bring prince back from the artistic dead. i think it would have to be someone nobody would ever suspect as the perfect collaborator, just as rick rubin was the most unlikely (but perfect) option for johnny cash.

there would be bloodshed lol

i can't even speculate who that person could/should be. if it ever happens (and that's an ENORMOUS "if"), it's going to be someone who will make us slap our foreheads and go "OH MY GOD, OF COURSE!!!!"

What we know about Prince...is that Price can play country music, and I'm sure he fools around with it on guitar at home. It's a style Prince is capable of although Prince is gonna give us what he has. cool

Nothing personal, I just find your comment pretty ignorant.

The comment was not ignorant. This is all about personal tastes. I too find country to be the worst form of music around. That doesn't make us ignorant, it makes us people who really do not like country. If you can state that one is ignorant for claiming country to be bad, you can state that one is ignorant for claiming it is good. A better example of an ignorant statement would be saying that country music doesn't sell. That is a verifiable (objective) statement that can be refuted. You can't refute a subjective statement.

I wouldnt be surprised if Prince has written a couple of country songs just for the hell of it. I remember his line from The Muppet Show that was country sounding.

The comment was extremely ignorant. Why not just say I don't like country music!?! confused
Some people have no cooth.
By the way they put it..i guess they just were'nt raised right.
Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

Prince is an undercover Country music lover:

"Sweet Baby"
"The Most Beautiful Girl In The World"
"I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man"
"Nothing Compares 2 U"
"Right The Wrong"
"When U Were Mine"
"Gotta Broken Heart Again"
"Somebody's Somebody"

I could go on.

According to a little bird who knows, there was a "Country" album completed & submitted to WB in early 1996, as part of the ploy to force his release from their contracts.

Yeah, this was a rumor posted on a.m.p. waaaaay back in 1995. It was called "Heart" something or other.
