for many people, modern prince music is to them as 'planet earth' is to you. based on your stated argument, both perspectives are equally valid or invalid. ur getting it twisted in more ways than one, each album is their own sculpture and not the same as the body of work in one's career. it's just adding 2 it. i don't personally take musicology and compare it 2 dirty mind, nor do i take controversy and put it up against the rainbow children. do i like other albums over others? of course but i don't harken that he needs 2 regain that sound again and keep doing these old songs over and over in ur live shows and that's it. i'd rather let him b his creative self in his new albums and keep going . planet earth IS THE ONLY ALBUM THAT I DETEST so that's alright. i love lotus and mpls more that's all. sure i love somewhere here on earth it's the best piece of pie from that pizza 4 me but 4 others it's the worst slice. but still it's one pie out of 30+ pies. but i refuse 2 just keep eating the same old pie over and over and compare it 2 the latest pie out of the oven. man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81 | |
