In 1988 Prince took to the stage wearing clothes with the words MPLS and Sound on his sleeves.

Strictly speaking, the Lovesexy tour/sound was NOT the MPLS sound. However, it is Prince so...whatever he is could be called The MPLS sound.

Same thing with the new album. Is it any less the Minneapolis Sound than Lovesexy era Prince? No. I'd argue that it is abit closer to the original meaning.

Prince is just as interesting now, as he was in the past. His recent work is not boring.
I like Prince because his records always put me in a good mood and make me think too. Prince has never lost his ability to convey fun, spirituality, love, longing and pain in his songs.

I am 20 years old and Prince is the artist that dominates my cd collection. I have some of his past works and his current work. Prince is only artist I would go out and buy his cd without every hearing a single song. Why? Because I know his work is going to interesting. I don't feel the need to compare "old" materials with "new" materials. From his debut records to Lotusflowe3r are their own creatures. All of Prince records have different vibes and moods to them. I love how he can jump to different genres and mixing genres.
I feel some people overanalyze Prince’s music and when they can’t find what their looking for they want to attack others who enjoy his work.
