E-mail Steve Harvey/Tom Joyner and other morning shows

In lieu of Prince debuting at number 2 on the Billboard 200 and selling 168,000 thousand copies and Prince giving an interview in a couple of weeks, since Prince doesn't seem like he's going to pro-actively hit the talk show circuit to promote "Lotus Flower" or tour, I suggest fans e-mail radio stations that will play his new music like Steve Harvey, Tom Joyner, Donnie Simpson and others. It will be a pleasure to hear his new music played on the radio even if it's just limited to morning show rotation. The aforementioned radio personalities has always shown him love, and hopefully this would help keep his album selling to at least reach 500,000.

"In lieu of" means instead or in place of. I think you mean "in honor of."

If Prince has not sent them any promo copies, they won't be playing it.

Actually, the better idea would be to write an actual letter, but just in case i did send an e-mail to Sandra Coyle, their radio person according to their site.

Are we supposed to send them a copy of the disc cause if they don't already have it then they won't be playing them. Tom Joyner asked Prince an very offensive question the last time he interviewed him which was back during the MJJ trail. He told Prince that he thought he would be the one who would have be in a sexually related trial instead of MJJ and Prince was like "Oh it's like that" so I don't know if Prince will be going back on his show himself cause I was highly shocked to hear him equate what was happening with MJJ with Prince. But it would be kewl to hear some new Prince on the airwaves.

Oh please! Back in the day, when Prince was the wild one and Michael Jackson was the "innocent" JW, who the hell didn't think that? shrug

It wasn't appropriate to ask that to Prince, though. He doesn't like being compared to anyone...especially MJ.

I'm sure u could email the mp3s to the show and it might get added. If Prince shot another Target commercial with another song, it might help boost the sales. OR if they took the Chocolate Box video and cut a commercial, that might work also.

Maybe not the truth...but it's what a lot of people thought back in the 80s for sure. Now, Prince is "saved" and MJ has gone astray. Not to mention all of the trouble MJ has been in.

Steve Harvey's show is one of Satan's angels. Tom Joyner is owned by Reach Media (which is a subsidiarity of Radio One).

I can't stand Tom Joyner. I think he's an asshole and a racist....

Callers, call in and share with us if you just KNOW a friend of your's is dating a white person but you can't quite prove it, but you just KNOW it.

As if something is wrong with dating a white person in the first place and you could just imagine the ignorant ghetto callers' responses that called in. I turned the channel and didn't wait around for any of the foolishness. Hell, if black folks "stuck with their own kind" that would eliminate 90% of the dicks I've had. lol

And talk about a sell out, Tom Joyner is one of the biggest. When he has live performers, they can barely perform on the stage because they are tripping all over the various sponsor banners and materials littering the stage. lol

I feel ya about Tom. I tell you, the thing that pisses me off about Tom is that he doesn't even try to be impartial. He is always telling "black folks" what to do. Hell, I'm black and you don't speak for me!!

If it's raining outside, it's white folks' fault. lol

I saw him give an interview on a television show once. He had grown up in Alabama during a different time and the rednecks were openly racist to him. He orginally was going to be one of The Commodores until Lionel Richie took his place. I can kinda understand why his hatred towards white people since he experienced racism first hand himself on a daily basis during racist times and in a racist area, but I still can't help but get pissed off when I hear him talk his shit. I don't even listen to his show any more.

Yeah, he an Lionel and the rest of the Commodores went to Tuskeegee Institute. When Lionel was promoting his last album, he spent the whole show with Tom. They talked a lot of sh!t to each other. You can tell that Tom was kind of envious of Lionel, but they were cool.

I still listen to his show on my way to work. I don't have but a few options for decent morning shows.

I have the local K104 (k104fm.com). They are a shit-hop station and I can't hardly understand what the hell they are saying. One of the hosts, Lady Jade, is soo ghetto fabulous that it's hard to believe that she has a communications degree from the University of Texas. We then have Steve Harvey, which I don't like his unprofessional-flat talking-ass and his ig-nant a nephew Tommy. They work my nerves!

I mostly listen to Kidd Kraddick, but he works my nerves after a while. He has a multi-racial show, but the black guy on there sets black people back 50 years. He was married, then his wife left him for cheating on her with 20-something white girls. Kidd is so far in the closet and won't come out. The other members of the show are cool, though.

So, Tom is my only logical option. Sometimes, I get sick of all of them and listen to the XM traffic channel. lol

I don't think they would have been nearly as successful with Tom instead of Lionel. And I'm not even talking about the Lionel solo years, I'm talking about The Commodores years. Lionel was a big contributor to those years also.

I still listen to his show on my way to work. I don't have but a few options for decent morning shows.

I'm constantly pushing buttons in the car on the way to work. I go from an oldies station that plays rock and R&B from the 60s, 70s, and occassionally the 80s (a Clear Channel station unfortunately) to a station called JACK FM (which has versions of their station all over the country) which is more 70s and 80s rock. Then there's another station on my dial that plays mainly old hard rock and heavy metal. I only have one R&B station on my dial (the one that carries Tom Joyner) and that's only because they have a good lunch time oldies hour and they throwdown some old funk on Saturday afternoons. Other than that, they are a "soft soul format"...translation: Shitney Houston influenced artists from the late 80s to today.

My dial is completely the opposite than back in the day. Back then, I only had R&B stations on my dial and I didn't have any rock stations on my dial whatsoever. But hey, when shit hop took over, I immediately took all those R&B stations off and replaced them with rock. My brother still can't believe I listen to rock these days. Hell, escaping shit hop will make you do some desperate things. lol

Shit hop didn't just cheapen the music, it cheapened the DJs, people's attitudes, and behavior. I can remember when DJs that used to play hardcore funk had sexy intelligent sounding voices...hell almost like game show hosts. lol Even the rappers back then had those type voices and not a bunch of low class thug sounding shit. lol

We then have Steve Harvey, which I don't like his unprofessional-flat talking-ass and his ig-nant a nephew Tommy. They work my nerves!

I can't stand his country ass either. I saw him on a stand up comedy show talking about his wife or girlfriend's gay brother that visited them. He mocked him and said something or other about "but you're still sweet". Hell, as a gay person, I'd rather be called straight out hardcore homophobic words like "fag" than "sweet" because ain't shit sweet about me. I'm a bitch and I'm deadly rattlesnake venom. The "sweet" label implies we're all weak. Hell, I enjoy being an evil bitch and getting revenge. lol

One of my friends (not on this board) is a lot like u. He says the same type of sh!t. lol He constantly refers to himself as a bitter hag and a bitch. I love it.

On STeve Harvey, I want to know what makes him a relationship expert? This negro is all over television promoting his tired book, but he doesn't have a degree and is mostly known for a horrible 90s tv show and a terrible ass radio show. So, when did he get his therapy license?
