ANY - I repeat ANY album played over and over for 3 weeks is going to get old. I don't care how great it is.

When albums are described as "growers", it doesn't mean 100 nonstop consecutive listens. There HAS to be some time to absorb the material and revisit.

Now if you don't like the songs no matter what, then that's your personal taste. My point: even a 5-star album that you love every song will get tiresome on repeat.

All that being said, LotusFlow3r is the better of the 2 albums IMO.

Well, I'm sorry for the lot of you cause it is jamming in my cd player right now. I don't understand how some of you so called fans don't like this cd??? Like what do you want music to do for you other than make you dance? It isn't going to cure cancer nor is it going to make your money earn any extra dividends. So just what to do you want it to do for you. I love this one and I stand by what Prince has put out into the world a funky new set of songs that moves my feet.

i agree.people on this sight are to critical of any and everything he does.its like they want him to invent a new instrument or something.brother makes funky music, rock music, jazz music,60's music.70's music.all that.and they r never happy.he even broke it down 4 them and put it simple.one rock cd.one funk cd,one female smooth cd.instead of all on the same record so u cant say he is all over the place.rock on prince u on it bro.

thanks for the information....

MPLSoUND is a slamming cd, finally up to date and you haters are simply just old! I can finally shelve the dated old MPLSoUND and celebrate the new MPLSoUND! More power to it and i hope it continues.

But the purpose of this new CD is that it is SUPPOSED to sound like the old- school MPLS sound! lol

But it's a pale shadow, it's not terrible and i rather enjoy it for what it is, but there is no 'Erotic City', '777-9311' or 'DMSR' to be heard. or nothing that really comes close.

It's not hating, it's being realistic.

bro erotic city has already been written.why do it again.who says what the cd is supose 2 sound like.thats your hope.take it 4 what it is.stop looking for the past in his future records and u may b surprise

True - you're right! I have had my LotusFlow3r/MPLSound combo disc (homemade compilation) in rotation since the website went live. Not bad.

Planet Earth didn't really make 1 full week - only a few start-to-finish listenings.

No it's not. He even calls it the "NEW Mpls sound" on OSC.

It's not "realistic", it's just "opinion".

Personally, I think that if Erotic City were a new track on MPLSoUND, most people on here would be slagging it off. falloff

what exactly are you saying?

I think I'm saying that nothing I have heard in the last x number of years has moved me the same way that the music did when I first became a fan.

It, Computer Blue, All the Critics, Darling Nikki, Peach, New Position, Erotic City, Strange Relationship, Cream, The Future, Le Grind, Lady Cab Driver, 1999, Willing & Able, The Ladder, Lovesexy, Sexy MF, Girls & Boys, DMSR, When Doves Cry, Let's Pretend We're Married, Purple Rain, Controversy.

They're all gone. And so has the man that made them in my eyes. But when Prince is on that stage... well that's another matter altogether. Pure euphoria.

bingo. once the man hits the stage the prince crack is in the pipe!

Yep, I'm still loving it too. I skip the ballads and the first track, but love the rest. More synths please!!!!

Off topic.

People are not "haters" because they merely "dislike" something. Not everyone enjoys anal sex for instance.

Fuddy-duddy. Is there something wrong in ageing? I for one have lived my youth and now enter a new period of my life. At 38 I no longer wear wellies, play with worms or have to be in before it gets dark. Because something is "new" does not grant it "likeable".

And perhaps the "fans" should split. I prefer Prince's past material. As I do most inspirational musicians. They have a period where originality flows from them and then it dissipates. Do the fans over at wonder.org really feel that Stevie still makes albums like he did during those golden years? I seriously doubt it.

Yes, we are all fans here: but that does not mean we are all fan-aticial.

I must ask myself though that if I wasn't a fan of Prince would I have been happy with the purchase of MPLSound. I've got to say that realistically I would have downloaded it and then promptly never wished to listen to it again. It, for me, is just another one to add to the collection of Prince cds that I always buy. Whether I like them or not.

Many of you here dislike or don't get The Rainbow Children. I find it fantastic. It's horses for courses. But what I don't do is name-call other orgers for their personal choice. We are not in a fascist world, we have freedom to choose and air our opinions regardless of critique. Some of you that show your loathing of your fellow fans here are no more than sycophants. And as we all know, nobody likes a sycophant, including the one they praise so highly and falsely.

Rant over. And I didn't swear once!

Other than the opening track (which sucks) I actually dig every track from MPLSound. I haven't enjoyed a Prince album this much in years.

And I love how tacky the cover is.

I played Sign O' the Times over and over when it came out. I went through 2 cassetes, 1 vinyl and now I have the CD. Played it all the time probably for at least a year. I listened to it at least once a week. I'm still not really sick of it.
