It's kinda interesting to hear... but just for curiosity value. (a bit like listening
to the Darling Nikki backwards to hear what's actually said). But that's all it is, just an interesting curiosity. The songs themselves were never intended to be listened to that way, and the music often suffers when slowed down to recreate the normal vocal speed. [Edited 4/14/09 16:13pm]

I'd say, no sane mind would go and play with the recording speeds to alter the listening experience from what the artist intended. Relax Grandma. Aside from your foolishly judgemental reasoning, are you sure you don't mean backwards, not sped up?

I did this a few years back but I removed the center channel (vocals) so I could pitch up the backing vocals to their normal speed and then pitched down his main vocal and mixed it back together. I did it without changing the key or tempo and it was interesting to hear as a novelty. I also stripped out the backing vocals for "Forever In My Life" and re-synced them up with the vocal as to how it was supposed to go (instead of the mistake they made while recording the song). Now that was fun listening to but after you're used to hearing something for 20+ years, anything different is, well... just different.

In Amadeus Pro, I adjusted the pitch down -1.75 - I like the song better this way. It's one of those songs where the only way to truly do it justice is to tweak it.

I cant do this with the cd ptich control--the whole song slows down. The voice sounds normal but the music is warped lol.

Heresey! Fooling around with the pitch may be fun and interesting, but this is one song that is perfect as is.

On the label for the original 12" version of Love or $, there was no play speed listed. As a song, it worked either way. People just logically assumed it was played on 45 cuz that was the speed listed for Kiss on the other side. Facebook, I haz it - https://www.facebook.com/Nikster1969

that is brilliant I don't think there was a time listed either. It's almost like it was meant from the get go to be played either way. I miss those days. I remember playing my boyfriend's Bruce Springsteen album at 45. Bruce sounded like Dolly Parton . [Edited 4/14/09 18:13pm] Facebook, I haz it - https://www.facebook.com/Nikster1969

There is an outtake version of Strange Relationship sung in normal voice, instrumentation is a little different as well. That's one to look for.
IIWYGF on the Sign o The Times movie is sung in normal voice, that's probably the easiest way to her the song in noncamille voice.
