Hey, can anyone enlighten me on what exactly the Poet 99 project was from 1993? Is Poet 99 a rapper who was working with Prince or was it a side project that he hoped would be released? Thanks

Many samples from these tracks have been used in songs on The Gold Experience and Emancipation and other tracks from that period. She appeared at a few events in '94, The Beautiful Experience at Paisley Park and some of the July benefit shows. I think there's an interview with her one of the NPG magazines, saying Prince was going to buy her a club where she could recite her work with other poets.

She did eventually release some music 10 years ago or so, got some notice because of the Prince connection. Not heard from her since.
