Foley in the Songs Which Prince song do you think uses the most foley (aka sound effects)?
We all know he uses foley, but which ones uses the MOST. "Chaos and Disorder" and "Zanalee" come to mind. "Wasted Kisses" has a lot at the end. [Edited 4/13/09 0:15am]

"Joint 2 Joint," most definitely.
You can hear him walking upstairs on the "Come upstairs 2 my room" line and also you can hear him chewing Cap'n Crunch in the "cereal" part! Awesome song...in my Top 3 tracks from Emanicipation. [Edited 4/13/09 1:33am] ā€ˇhttps://www.youtube.com/@PurpleKnightsPodcast

For a reason I can't explain, I think C&D seems to have the most comfortable foley. That is, I think the song is better for it, and it doesn't feel as tacked on as the other examples listed above. ....TMBGITW, for example.
Having said that, I could completely imagine someone having a polar opposite view. It's a taste thing I think.

there is also a Wilhelm scream in We March. Im kidding , I did hear the same scream being used in an episode of Heroes once. Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

I have no clue what foley (the sound effect) is! Foley is just another word for sound, or sound effects. The "foley editor" in a movie is the person in charge of putting all the little sounds over the film. When someone walks, it doesn't necessarily pick up the footsteps, yet in the movie, we hear them in a subtle manner. Or perhaps background noise in a club scene. They're not really playing music while filmimg, they add that later. So things like "Lady Cab Driver" has the sound of a city street. That is foley, or sound effects. "Chaos and Disorder" has a lot of stuff in it, sound effects, that is foley.

On topic: my guess would be 'Lady cab driver'. I like foley! [Edited 4/13/09 15:53pm]
