You got jokes, huh biggrin ? Hopefully you actually like the name. Most of the time, people read others post and think they're nonsense anyways. Therefore, the name!

Why? Because Timberlake's "FutureSex/LoveSounds" produced by Timbaland was heavily inspired by Prince's Lovesexy album. It seems Prince has inspired &/or influenced many top young artist from Pussycat Dolls, Ciara, Snoop, Justin, John Legend, Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Diddy, etc., etc. It seems like P was reaching out and acknowledging his past sound. And also encouraging the young generation to make better music ie Ol' Skool Company.

LOL FutureSex doesn't even resemble Lovesexy. I like both albums, a lot. But if FutureSex nods to anything it's The Time, or stuff circa Dirty Mind/Controversy, or even 1999.

On the October 2006 issue of the British music magazine Q, a review states, "[The album is a] set of forward-thinking pop reminiscent of Sign O' The Times-era Prince." (from wiki)

Timbaland productions are way better than the production on MPLSound. Its not even close. Prince can't even do the Prince sound anymore.

Let Timbaland, The Dream, Neptunes, ?uestlove et al bring their A game to a Prince record and we'll get something much more interesting.

It's really apples and oranges. Timbaland and Timberlake's production has a "sound", and it's starting to sound the same. WHen you get the Duran Duran stuff they did, plus Ciara's duet, plus Madonna's "4 Minutes"...they all sound like they could be from the same album. The styling, the arrangements, all very similar. I hope JT doesn't take this sound to his next album. He needs to step it up a notch. Because really, if you take all the collaborations he's done in the past two years, THAT is an album right there. I don't wanna hear it AGAIN on his new CD.

But the same goes for Prince's sound. It's evolved over the years. The Gold Experience sounds nothing like Purple Rain or even SOTT. Rave didn't sound like The Gold Experience. However, I do think since Emancipation, Prince has gotten a new sound that isn't that great. It's very dry at times, plastic, and bland. NewPowerSoul is a good example of this.

Nah. If it was, I'm sure Prince would have at least mentioned Timbaland name in the song. I mean, he me mentioned Christina Milian for pete sakes.

lol Yeah. It's funny, people used to do their damnedest to jack Prince's sound. Now it seems the script has flipped.
• Did you first think Prince was gay? •

Wendy: He’s a girl, for sure, but he’s not gay. He looked at me like a gay woman would look at another woman. Lisa: Totally. He’s like a fancy lesbian.

Au contraire it is you who has it backwards. Of course Prince is a massive influence on Timbaland. That has nothing to do with Timabaland's productions being vasty superior to Prince's modern efforts. Theres producers out there modernising the Prince sound better than Prince ever could now.
