Wow, you must not have heard a lot of Prince music until now. Prince did not rewrite the album, he added things to it; mainly putting tag endings on a few songs. He remixed "Man O War" and added production to the title track, took one or two songs off, added one, stuff like that. It's a remix album at best, but that's not exactly a new concept either.

I wish he had left the "Man of War" as it was great; other than that overall not too bad. Prince's Sarah

he butchered Rave Into (The song) into a million pieces.. Agree...original song is SO much better...same with Man o War. Also wish he kept Strange but True on In2...but other than those songs, Rave In2 is the better album. For the simple fact alone that it doesn't contain that horrid cover of Everyday is a Winding Road. I get nauseated just thinking of that crap joint.

Hi Timberlake, Rihanna, Mariah and all of yall Sorry Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis started that with Janet Jackson's Control back in the day I don't know if Control - The Remixes (which I knew about but just acquired for the first time last week, still in the shrink wrap) was the first remix album, but it was certainly the first I had heard of in 1986. Paula Abdul's was the second (Shut Up and Dance!). T'was a good idea. I wish it had more varied remixes on it though. It would have been nice to have the album sequence of songs there, but just different mixes. You can almost build a new album like that from the janet. album in 1992. janet.remixed wasn't quite the idea I mentioned.

Both have their good points. I think the "Hot With U" remix was the most rancid change between the albums. Makes a boys ears bleed!

I agree Rave In2 is better - just listen to the title song; it's lifted into life and is a fave track to run to. the original was hopeless apart from the guitar (which had been around for 10 years anyway in concert!). And Man O War is not one of my favourites. Too bad Tangerine wasn't upgraded more, sweet gem.
In any case the worst part of this era must have been the clothes, right?

both versions are a mess. There was a great album hidden in there had it been sequenced properly, and some of the fat trimmed (Hot Wit U.... gawds, what was the little man thinking?) * * *

he was thinking "Clive wants me to put some more urban material on this and add some guest stars, like Eve." could have been a cool collaboration, but boy did he pull out a stinker to put her on.
