Prince says, "I wanna talk about it."

"Colonized Mind," is once again, another great philisophical work of art by Prince. Thought provoking and emotional as your mind meanders through the heart's reasoning of this song.

What I am curious about, especially Prince's personal perspective, is that if we as mankind do fall under the laws of a "Colonized Mind," such as the divine mind of God...How "Free," can "Free Will," be? I am someone that personally believes that free will is limited.

I feel as if you look at the cover of "LOTUSFLOW3R," and Prince appears to be having intellectual/spiritual life descending into him....that this Divine elsewhere is responsible for both the idea of free will, and free will's limits may be unrealized.

Do you believe that this is the source of 4giveness that is revealed through the life of Jesus? We cannot take full blame as passengers on a life trip, when distortion has also been fed to us by an original mind. cool

Thoughts?

You are misinterpreting the song. The "colonized mind" does not belong to a higher power. It is we whose minds have been "colonized" - by human beings in whom we have invested undeserved power.

He's saying that knowing God (ie, the Truth) will free people from "colonization."
We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

That's why I wanted to also discuss this...Where else can a higher power be filtered from?

I guess it gets into the philisophical questions that arise from Omniscience creating both good and it's opposition, so that everything can be repremanded, overcome and cured. In the grand scheme of Eternity...Maybe Evil's apparent life is very short lived 4 spirit's continuing 4 Ever. cool
