Well, we know Larry and Chaka. Beatles, Stones,Zep, Grand Funk and Joni. Who else?

"Devo" was a big influnce when he incorporated
some new wavestuff to his funk in the early 80's.
Other than that if I'd just mention one influence
that would be "Sly & The Family Stone",cuz just as
Prince's music it's such a blend of different styles.
