Hi everybody. I'm new here and this is my first post. I'm sure this question has been asked in the past, but my search of the archives didn't turn up anything.

I was just wondering how one might go about scoring backstage passes or an invite to an aftershow party. Has anyone here gone backstage or to a party?

I have gone to other concerts where if you waited out by the tour buses after the show, the artist might eventually leave the venue and say hi and sign some autographs before leaving. Does Prince ever do this? I've gotta meet that guy!

This is what pretty much all of us on this site want to do. In London 2007 tickets were easily available for the aftershows (as I'm sure you know).

However, there are people who have managed to blag their way into small aftershows (at least in the 1980's) by finding out which club it was at and charming the bouncers or someone in Prince's entourage as they entered. I even know someone who flirted with Cat (SOTT tour) and gave her roses - and managed to get into an aftershow for it.

The most important thing is to find out where it is on!

Highly unlikely security will let anyone backstage without prior clearance.

He is very sweet but reserved. I think if you are in his position you would be the same if not worse.

Join the fansite, try to get close enough to the stage, talk to the other musican around him...hell, honestly I don't know. I think you just have to be lucky.

I have not been to a Prince concert for a long time, so the situation is different now I suppose. I got invited to several aftershow parties many years ago. If he is partying in a club you might just be lucky to get in when you find out where it is taking place. Sometimes that is announced after the show.

I'd say leave him alone, but go to the aftershows!!

I managed to rub shoulders with the little guy at an afterparty when he was down here in Australia.

I wanted to speak to him. But as a fan who kinda like knows what he's like, you just know not to bother him and let him roam the room at his will. Mind you, when you see his minders a few feet away, you know what would happen if you tried.

The rest of the band on the other hand, are always up for a chat.

It'd be nice to sit down and have a chat though. Oh well.
