Songs like so Blue could be considered country flavored. I want prince to show country ppl how to make it right!

I can't imagine that Prince would do a country album. But, if he does.....oh my.....I dunno.

well he has done a country song 'right the wrong' on chaos and disorder....bloody awful but i think he was extracting the urine with that one.....or i hope he was

I think that even if he tried to make a country album it would end up being so FUNKY that no one would consider it "country"

the only GOOD country music is traditional, classic country music. and i don't think prince knows or cares about that kind of music, which is fine, but it also makes me really not want him to entertain the idea of "going after that keith urban money".

According to a little bird who knows, there was a "Country" album completed & submitted to WB in early 1996, as part of the ploy to force his release from their contracts. They balked & accepted C&D & the later "The Vault" project in turn, ending his release obligations with the company. Apparently the publishing agreements (and perhaps some behind the scenes financial settlements) were still in place until the close of the century, at which point he took back the name "Prince".

I'm not too into Country, with the exception of a few songs, but I would love to see Prince do a Country album. It would be shocking and different. He's done so many other genres of music, why not tackle this one? No one is expecting George Strait but something unique from the dude.

Why do you say that? I don't own too much country music but I do think it is definitely quality music with quality musicians and I think it's a very respectable genre of music. From what I know, country music almost always involves live music and live instruments as well as quality songwriting.

WTF is that? There are other forms of music that do not even involve instruments and singing, etc. If you don't dig country music, that's cool, but how can it be called "the lowest form of music on earth"...THAT is what I'm talking about.

If you were to ask me what my least favorite form of music is, I would say county. And I really don't think he should. One way or another, his funk/R&B edge is going to come out, so it won't be purely country.

at least Country gets their own station... rap & hip-hop still filter their way into my favorite stations if they didn't attempt to mingle with the good stuff, I might show a little more understanding
But they were the reason I couldn't trust mainstream radio for 3-4 years
