IT WILL B SO MUCH BETTER! GO ON!! BYE BYE Um a little side note. 4 of my friends got bumped to front row at the last madonna concert. She sends her staff around to the people in line and hands out front row seats to anyone they think is fun. She wants all diehard fans and fun people in the front row. This cost them nothing, it was something free she did for her fans to show her appreciation.[/quot Those fans were lucky they went for the "fun" look that night! agarze said: In my opinion the NPGMC Year 2 issue has two sides:
- the legal one potential claims can be based on "the offer" included in the ONA Tour - still, if it has legal grounds (I'm a lawyer, however from a continental Europe and the legal system here is different, therefore I cannot opinion this on the basis of the Anglo-Saxon law) Anglo-Saxon law is different yes, but not that different, especially not regarding consumer law principles. The "offer" made by the npgmc is also in the e-mail sent to members at the beginning this year, plus on the join now pages of the npgmc (all year long untill last week when they deleted every word). It said literally: at least 4 NEW cd's delivered throughout the year and part of the exclusive membership package. but what happened? In short: not at least 4 cd's as in albums (which is very clear), not NEW, not delivered throughout the year and definitly not exclusive. NPGMC/Prince failed to perform in almost every sense. , this claim can be difficult to be proved - one has to provide the evidence that she or he joined on the basis of "this offer". If you joined in February 2002 - no case. true, but then they still have a strong case based on the other offers, which are pure "offers" in stead of pure advertisement, such as in the tourbook. other claim (like the one I might have) based on the fact I have not received ONA Piano Album (and I joined in January 2002) so far. In any way, receiving the album with ONA Live (which I did) does not resolve this issue. Apparently, ONA Piano Album is a part of ONA Live. Since members receive ONA Piano Album and ONA Live - I should get both.
true, but many members didn't get ONA, many haven't received ONAlive either. All should get both and at least 1 other NEW cd to fullfill the contract.(a judge might be willing to see "It ain't over" as a seperate album/cd.) - the ethical one It doesn't matter if one has got a case or not. The point is that NPGMC the business company operated poorly, as shown by the following examples: - very poor customer service - the servers practically were down when you wanted to purchase the show tickets - the number of cuss words I used that day should suffice for the rest of my life - the total mess with shipping ONA Live - NO INFORMATION all very true. Obviously, none of these matters can give the slightest grounds for legal action. But they do effect the way members perceive the club and its workings. And the estimation is really low, as the posts here on org clearly show. I'm pretty sure this situation does not satisfy none of the parties: the members and Prince. I'm pretty sure that if these issues had not existed, people would not be complaining now. They would listen to their music and enjoy the experience. exactly Of course I have no idea why these issues occured. I believe it's a combination of: - lack of business experience is not an excuse. Moreover Prince has been a businessman for 25 years now, he should know how to do better. - maybe too little respect for the members (although hard to believe when you think how friendly Prince was at the soundchecks) unless you believe it is yet another way to entice fans to join and pay 100$ plus 100$ for the concert plus 100$ for the aftershow... makes 300$ on just one fan. consider prince has tens of thousands of fans willing to join... they got rich. - Prince's own character - too mysterious for standard business operations
nonsense, he knows how to keep his head out of the clouds, he just doesn't do it. - maybe some greed for money when the business wasn't entirely thought out. I would say probably. The business in any case wasn't thought out, not in the very least. They basically f88cked up a whole lot of things. I don't know and I guess none of us will ever do. At the same time, however, none of them can be used as an excuse. correct However, I have absolutely no complaints concerning the price of NPGMC. Considering the overall concept of the club (an association of people sharing the love for Prince's music), plus the perks plus the CD's I think it was well worth the money. if you got the cd's and perks as promised yes. Priblem is...MANY, MANY members did not. - [This message was edited Tue Dec 17 5:43:46 PST 2002 by Abrazo] You are not my "friend" because you threaten my security. | |
