No more eternal candy for you! I have no problem with it actually. He's obviously condemning people in the song, it's fairly open to interpretation as to what he's specifically referring to. Would it be better to say that karma is a bitch, or people get what they deserve, or every action has a consequence than it is to say "you're putting your soul in jeopardy?" If this is indeed the case... The last time I checked Prince is not the one that hands out "eternal candy" and if I were him, I wouldn't be so quick in condemning people because his life has been far from perfect. I'll take a guess,  , could it mean, from a religious or spiritual standpoint, maybe he means don't expect blessings (candy, good fortune) to come or be granted to you, unless you correct your ways, check yourself or acknowledge your wrongs?
The part about "the haters on the internet, somebody's watching you" Let's see, probably means as long as you throw out the hate, the hate you put out you'll get back (karma) at the same time, hinting that a higher power is always watching you. I don't know...just guessing.  | |

Candy could mean he wont be releasing any more alubms if people that dont have a clue about music wanna judge and criticize it.
