So theres this guy called Prince. he has a string of hits and like a man possessed writes hundreds of songs in his teens, 20's & early 30's.. sometime in his mid 30's-40's he gets 'writer's block' u know..'can't write a hit 4 shit' syndrome & slowly loses his fan base. He is able 2 recapture his fading popularity however & appear 2 still be a prolific writer by using and re-working songs he wrote decades ago..

His father also dies and suddenly the person who composed many of the hits Prince credited to himself is not there..and neither is the music

So he creates this very 1990's sounding album and releases it in 2009...under the guise that its 'brand new shit'

It however doesn't take a trained eye (or ear) 2 decifer that Prince has not in fact written a new song in over 15 years and is todat completely reliant on a vault of music written decades ago..

So Prince's dad wrote his songs for him?

That's not very possible. Think about it, he has directions in which he wants his albums to go in (for the most part). Sure, I'm not saying that he hasn't pulled tracks and used them for "new" material, but we know songs like "Feel Better" were written in the last 5 years.

If you look at the credits, they were recently recorded. If he didn't say it, people like Michael B., Sonny T., and Morris tell of the countless hours of recording they go through.
