Just finished listening to Blacl Friday, the bootleg of he's october new york shows and it sounds empty, like its missing something.

3121 dies on its arse, Cream is lifeless, all the main hooks from Girls And Boys are gone... so on

Satisfied is just about saved by Fred's harmonica solo's but everything sounds so empty!

He needs MACEO, GREGG, MIKE and LEE back!!!

All I know is I think I prefer the studio versions of Colonized Mind and Crimson and Clover. Very surprising.

i agree, but in moderation. he doesn't need to arrange every song to be dripping in horns when he plays them live.

I would love to c him perform with a bass guitar keyboard synth drums/percussion

Love the horns and Maceo and Greg but hey, I´ve had enough horns for now. I miss the days when he had only one horn player, like Eric Leeds or Eddie Minninfield. Too many horn players are horn overload, IMO. I´d rather hear more synth stuff than see or hear three horn players during Controversy.

i don't think it's a sample tho. in the liner notes it's credited to Prince and one of the horn guys.

A few of you mentioned that keys and synths should replace the horns, but thats part of the problem now.

Actually, he's right: It's lifted from a track that the NPG Hornz did on one of their albums as The Hornheadz. Can't remember what that track is called at the moment, but Prince just cut it down and added it to the end of BJB.

My favourite 'Prince - Horns' moments are when he uses them as if they were strings, i.e, 'Morning Papers' style. More pad than syncopation.

Yeah, I dig the way Prince uses horns as well.

I thought the way he used them for songs that didn't have horns in them were really cool.

The versions of I Wanna Be Your Lover and Head that he did with horns during the Lovesexy tour were the SHIT!!!
