I'm neither hardcore nor casual (I once was hardcore, and it could happen again).
I don't have blind adoration for Prince, nor do I feel everything negative said about him is completely rational and sane. I can survive fine without his club, but I understand (some) people who are customers of it and some of their complaints. I know Prince isn't the devil incarnate, or God. I don't give a rat's ass about his every single move and it doesn't affect my life. I have criticized some of his actions, but I don't think about it or drone away at it on a daily basis here or elsewhere, and will continue if I feel it's warranted. And my emotions aren't tied up in all things Princely. I have praised Prince for his artistry and continue to do so when I feel it's warranted. I've never bought anything other than music, concert tickets, or posters (as a kid) by Prince. I don't think he's the only recording artist worth listening to, and I also think lately he's been worth listening to moreso than in the past dozen years at least. This type of mentality leads some to believe that some fans here think Prince is the only recording artist making credible music. Learn to distinguish, people. I mean really. I'm not anti-Larry Graham because I know and understand his history, but I also don't think musically he's added anything very necessary to Prince's gumbo. I don't listen to Prince everyday. Well, isn't that special. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

Its only been in the last few days that anyone has even been remotely critical of Prince..its all been a schmooze-fest recently and now everyones panties are in a bunch because its not a love fest--dont worry, its gonna come back. I'll spearhead the movement. "Climb in my fur."

Because they're secretly obssessed with Prince, why else would they other to post a long, drawn out thread critizing his every move? Same thing with all the "Mani haters". ~KiKi

I think this year was the last nail in the coffin for many soon to be ex members, so consequently there will prob be alot less complaining. You would have to be a really really forgiving die hard fan to throw your money on a third year of this. I dig his earlier work tho and enjoy chatting about it.

People r negative about all aspects of life. Mans nature is 2 seek fault and pass blame. Look at Eve?. People have the right 2 opionions but how often do we live out other peoples opionions instead of forming our own? how easy is it 2 agree with the majority? How easy is it 2 bcome part of the problem rather than part of the answer?. Heres my take...i formed this opinion on my owm, based on my own experinces and on my own love 4 this artist and genuis. Prince, the man, the music, the legend, has been in my life 4 approx 15 years. When i was first captivated by his work i quickly rejected all other 4ms of sub standard manufactured music. Every song take me further into the journey which is part of being a Fam. I have been 2 thorugh the Purple Rain, Over Graffitti Bridge and been taken All around the world by his lyrics and by his talent. No i am not blinded by him as a human, r u? No he isnt God, r u? No he isnt perfect, r u? I have seen him per4m live. On stage his love 4 fams is obvious, his desire 2 please, 2 thrill, 2 entertain eminates from every pore of his being. If only we as fams could put as much back into the artist as he obviously pours out 2 us. I take no heed of detractors who critize, scorn and mock. I know how much Prince means 2 me, i know the influnce his music has had on my life. Negativity never suprises me, people are built 2 complain, unless of course they have found something worth giving attention, care and support. Prince has my support, npgmc has my support... i care not wat u think, i know what i know u cant take away what u didnt give me

Sept 11 bothers me. Terrorism botheres me. The threat of war bothers me. Raising my kids in a cruel world bothers me.My post wasnt about negativity about Prince bothering me. My post was my opinion based on my own experince of Prince unlike most others who gladly jump on the bandwagon of other peoples gripes.

I love this board because no one here is a CULT MEMBER..
prince does great stuff and dumb stuff.. everyone talks about both. would you rather this board be like all the MJ boards where everyone is sooo thin skinned, cult members.. trying to spin every odd MJ failure? I hope not The Org is balanced and interesting reads (good and bad) thumbs up on The Org.

I hope not The Org is balanced and interesting reads (good and bad) thumbs up on The Org. I totally agree with you locoarts. Before I joined the org, I thought every thing Prince touched would turn to gold but coming to this site made me realize that I didn't have to approve of everything that he does and still be a fan of his. He's a human being first and I'm not supposed to be worshipping him. He makes good choices and bad choices too but it's my choice as to whether or not I'm going to stick it out and I choose to stay because the music is always the Bomb and that's what it's about. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I don't really have a problem with Tom, I don't know him personally. I have a problem with Tom with on the org; I have a problem with people, like Tom, who are always negative and critcal to the point that it is disturbing. I understand that he feels that he has been lied to, but why continue to rehash it? He has written to NPGMC and to the BBB. He continues to post, post, post and post about the same topic. Understandably he has a problem with the club, but as it was stated and we all know that a lot of the business decisons need improvement. But to continue to shoot down Prince, when will it stop. Enjoy the music, DON'T join the club, buy from retailers, just stop whining!!! We know how he feels!!! u & me, we got mad chemisty
