Prince spelling out lyrics - nothing new . . . I've read on here that a lot of people don't like Prince spelling out B-O-X in "Chocolate Box", saying he's chasing after Fergie or Gwen Stefani or saying that it's just dumb.
Well, Prince has been spelling out lyrics pretty much since the beginning. It's been a while, so we were due: • Cool: C-O-O-L (Prince wrote and sings backup) • Automatic: A-U-T-O-matic • Something In The Water: Y-O-U • New Position: H-A-P-P-Y • Sex: S-E-X • Pheromone: L-is for Lust, O-is for Obsession, V-E is for the Vast way u Envelope my soul • Welcome 2 The Dawn: K-A-R-M-A • Chocolate Box: B-O-X I'm sure there are several more; for some reason I think there's one in the NPGMC track era. |

I'm not sure it's so much the spelling out as it is the phrasing in the track that people are finding similarities in.  | |
