The set lists he played at the L.A. shows (which unfortunately I didn't witness) are very cool. I'd like something like that for a show (especially the second).
Anyway, I'm ready to pay to see and hear him live, playin' what the hell he wants to play, it'll be alright with me.

In the old days Prince seemed to get the balance right. Each tour used to showcase a lot of new material from whatever the latest album was, mixed with a sizeable chunk of hits, with several fan favs and unexpected tracks thrown in. This is also what most successful acts try and do on the whole. However, recently Prince seems to have lost sight of this this simple formula for pleasing everyone, and either does 'hits' shows where he barely plays more than a couple of songs from his latest album (plus several completely unnecessary covers) or he does the opposite and plays no hits whatsoever. Of course this is great for aftershows of quiet fan-club type gigs, but when it comes to the big arena shows, he needs to get the balance back to how it used to be IMO. well said but he needs 2 leave purple rain and 1999 at home along with LGC and LRC promote ur new product and get ur audience involved in2 the NEW stuff. Many songs from his last few albums i have been longing 2 hear live but he never does it. If he is going 2 do covers and old material all the time, then call the tour GREATEST HITS AND COVERS TOUR ..thus way i can save my money and won't b bothered 2 c him live. but if a tour is being called after the latest album, then dammit i want 2 HEAR THOSE NEW SONGS DOMINATED IN THE SET! man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Totally agree. Play small venues with the latest material including some past jems, not necessarily mainstream hits.
