Imago

Crimson & Clover if he promotes the crap out of it.

Dance 4 Me if he offers a remix-maxi single. And promotes the crap out of it.

Colonized Mind . Again, if he really promotes it.

The problem with Prince is that for better or worse, he's viewed as an 80s phenomenon cause the younger 20-something audience simply knows nothing about him, and the 30-40 somethings have moved on. He has to promote the way MJ promoted his material in the late 80s and 90s. Enough promotion given the fact that the material is pretty good, will render him the results he needs.

I mean come on--Do you folks really think Puddle of Mud can get top 10 hits off of their material alone? lol

The thread is for a big CHART hit, Prince hasnt had a BIG Chart hit since "i hate U" peaked at Number 18 in 1995, that was his last time in the Top 40. We arent talking about what song can get played in a club, shit, if you know the DJ you can get anything played in a club. And "Musicology" did nothing, and Call My Name did OK on rb radio for a few months.

About the club thing is not exactly true some DJ will play what u want but most don't and ppl are not gonna constantly be with the DJ and asking for it. successful club tunes do make a difference in the charts. Blacksweat was popular over here with the youngens and adults, I know many of non fans raving about it and Musicology both did chart over here and I saw both videos being played loads on music TV.

the albums charted and despite getting some video play the singles were non existent on the charts. BlackSweat got play but it was very regional, if we are talking A MAINSTREAM BIG CHART HIT, prince is not going to have another hit single in the climate that exists, its that simple. Albums will chart here and there for a couple of weeks, but as far as a "taking over" airwaves for a BIG HIT its not going to happen, and hasnt happend for him since 1994.

"We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

NONSENSE

"Here" with bside "Ol' Skool Company" or "Dance 4 Me"
"Crimson & Clover" with bside "Boom"
"Colonized Mind" with bside "Back 2 Lotus"
"Dreamer" with bside "4ever"
"Chocolate Box" with bside "There will Never(B another like me)"
