I don't have time to listen to it daily so,I haven't been able to listen to it so much that I would get tired of it.

No. When Planet Earth came out, I grew tired of it VERY quickly. I found myself skipping most songs, till I just stopped playing it.
I have begun to play these 2 together on shuffle. music

I've been listening to nothing but MPLSoUND for the past 3 days - even though I consider Lotusflow3r to be the more accomplished album overall, I just can't get enough of this one.

The songs I initially thought were the "weaker" ones on the first listen may now actually be my favorites. Here may be my favorite song from either disc. It captures a bit of the vulnerable side of Prince, which is always welcome, and contains some of his most honest lyrics in a while.

And although I liked U're Gonna C Me when it was on One Night Alone, this new version surpasses it for me. The chorus has been stuck in my head all day.

I haven't listened to Planet Earth in months. And even when it first came out, I didn't spin it like this. If CDs could wear out from constant playing, these 2 new ones would be well on their way.

As I said before, I haven't listened to a Prince CD this consistently since at least The Gold Experience. But with that one, I tended to use the skip button once in a while. I think I might eventually consider these 2 discs my favorites since Lovesexy.

It was only less than a week ago that I wondered if something like that was even possible. Me happy. biggrin

Nope. Mpls and Lotus are more interesting and enjoyable to me than PE to use your example. I love the title track and like 3 others on PE, but with the two new albums I don't have to skip any tracks, although I do put some on repeat.

The ones I put on repeat are...

Colonized Mind, (love everything about it, almost like he asked what I wanted to hear.)
Boom, (dayum, just dayum!)
Crimson and Clover, (ooowhee!)
Wall of Berlin, (where am I? LOL!)
Dreamer, (one helluva romp.)
Feel Better, Feel Good, (even my sons were dancing.)

Excellent album IMO...and the guitar on this cd is the shiznit!

On Mpls my faves are...

Chocolate Box, (didn't care for the demo so I was caught off guard, love it!)
Dance 4 me, (big fun.)
Better With Time, (really lovely)
Ol Skool Company, (I can relate)
Valentina, (cute and catchy)

These 2 cds are just the right eclectic mix for my tastes...ya got your intense, guitar driven songs, your rump shakers, your electro funk, etc. Even Elixir is better than expected.

If and when I do go back to a recent release I would choose 3121. biggrin Did anything on Lotus or Mpls impress you Rainbowchild? I'm curious.
Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

confuse

Fams/Fans are strange...

why tire out a perfectly good album by playing it in overdrive in the first place?
I don't see the logic in it because if you do it, you'll get so sick of it eventually that you won't be able to play it for quite a while.

I've put some space between the nights I give Lotusflow3r a spin... I've only heard the downloaded version twice, so clearly I'm not sick of it.

But I am still listening to another album as I go through them chronologically... I should be onto Diamonds & Pearls sometime this weekend

Not at all. I listen to it daily from start to finish. Sometimes I mix it up via the shuffle function on my iPod (always love the next song surprise) & now that I have printed the lyrics, it gives a whole new meaning to the songs! I can't get enough!

I actually took a break from it today not because I was tired of it but because I felt like I was overdoing it. I can't begin to tell you how many times I've played both CD's since last Tuesday. I'll be playing it again tomorrow. I LOVE BOTH CD's. It feels so good to say that! biggrin biggrin

I've been playing all three and can't get enough. Prince really shined on this release and I have to give props to Bria's album as it is quite refreashing even though it's Prince with a her singing over what he laid down, but none the less funky. Pleased with whole set and will be spinning for a while, cuz "Purple Music does things to my brain!"

I've been giving both albums little rests, but no, I'm not the least bit tired of them. I actually feel like I'm still in the process of fully discovering Lotus. To my utter shock, it has revealed itself to be one of those deceptive growers that gets better each time.

Yes I have; Lotusflow3r reminds me of jimi's electric ladyland, it just does not work for Prince, hard for me to get into it; as for MPLSOUND, same deal, I put on my headphones during the 2nd listening, other than the oldskool piece, sorry, but I just can't get into the cd. I will forever buy his music but let's face it, something has been lacking from his output for a long time, his last good cds were PRINCE, and THE GOLD EXPERIENCE.

Nope.

Far from it. I've found 'Mplsound' and 'Lotusflow3r' the most enjoyable Prince albums in years.

The quality of these, far outweighs, in my opinion, that of 'Planet Earth.' The production on 'Lotusflow3r' in particular, far exceeds Prince's last three albums.
