P's Non "R & B" ballads

As we all know P has a knack for making sensuous "R & B" bedroom ballads, but for me, even though i liked them all, most of them were too similar in style and vocal arrangement (Do Me Baby, Scandalous, Eye Hate U, Insatiable, Shhh, Adore). But these ballads are what i like more of from him. Different subject matter, unexpected and not so 4-play-ish (not that anythings wrong with THAT). what others am i missing?

SHOE
U're Gonna C Me
Here
Better With Time
Future Baby Mama
Until You're in My Arms Again
The One
Sweet Baby
Shy
Te Amo Corazon
Colonized Mind

Even Satisfied and On the Couch were more bluesy than "r & b-ish"

For me a ballad has with song tempo and vocal delivery (both being slow). it CAN have guitar in it. Colonized Mind isn't "mid" or "up" tempo so in my book it qualifies

These songs may not all be R&B Ballads..Just a few of my favorite slow songs. cool

I'll add a couple:

Love...Thy Will Be Done (!) worship
Here On Earth...
The Love We Make
She Gave Her Angels
Silly Game
Man of War

I'd say some of your 'non'R&B list actually are (e.g. Future Baby Mama, Sweet Baby) Maybe you're not feeling the R.Kelly 12-play style that's so hackneyed these days, but Prince definitely had a hand in creating, lol. In comparison, Prince's are at least among the more creative though...like 'Eye Hate U'.

I didn't see "Joy in Repetition" or "The Question of U" on the list. And how about "Purple Rain"?

These tracks may have a different flavor than his other 'smoldering' type RnB ballads... but they're still very much RnB. Some of the others may be a tad more jazzy or bluesy... but Jazz is like the uncle of RnB... and the blues is the Mama.... i.e Rhythm & Blues.

Non RnB ballads that come to mind right now include (more rock or unclassifiable):
Purple Rain
Arms of Orion
Sometimes it Snows In April
Anna Stesia
Diamonds and Pearls
Power Fantastic
I Wish U Heaven
The Question of U
Forever in my Life
Little Red Corvette
Darling Nikki
Joy in Repetition
The Ladder
Blue Light
