Prince To Appear on Tavis Smiley Show Later This Month: Tavis Thanks Prince for his generosity

www.drfunkenberry.com

Tavis Smiley just sent out an email to his email list and it mentions Prince’s genorisity and an upcoming appearance later this month on Tavis’s PBS show.

Here are most of the details of the email;

Dear Friends:

I hope this letter finds you well. I’d like to take a few minutes of your
time to thank all of you who joined in the 10th anniversary celebrations
of the State of the Black Union and the Tavis Smiley Foundation at the
Prince concert and the Gospel Brunch benefit.

During that historic weekend in February we were successful in raising
almost $225,000 to support our work of developing young leaders. Just like
you and many, many non-profits around the country, we’re feeling the
impact of the economic crisis, so we are counting our blessings that these
events will allow us to continue our programs.

Will there be a Q&A because I'd love nothing more than to be able to ask Tavis to SHOW exactly WHERE that money will go?

Because Prince has carved a creative niche for himself to own his music
and to market directly to the public, this project does not have the
traditional support of radio or a record label. Hence, you may have not
heard any of the CD tracks on your local radio stations.

And yet in the other thread someone claims the Target ad is always on TV. And didn't Prince just do three gigs on Leno's show?

The reason radio ain't playing him is because he ain't relevant. And the reason for that is because he ain't making good music anymore.

Too see Tavis pimping Prince's new disc just because Prince gave him $225,000 : pathetic. How much did Prince make from the recent LA gigs? Wasn't that $5 million? So Prince gave Tavis 5% of what he made from ONE NIGHT.

And in addition, later this month Prince is scheduled to be a guest on my
television show on PBS to discuss his CD and the challenges facing
independent music artists pursuing their right to self-determination.

Hey Tavis, I hope you'll also talk to Margie Cox about that subject. Or the members of The Family. Or the members of The Time. But I bet you won't because that would upset your "friend".

That's not neccesarily true, is it? The radio plays alot of shit which is neither artistically good or culturally relevant.

I never caught your Lotusflower review, Bart. Did you post one? I'd genuinely like to hear what you made of it.

Right, because the Pussycat Dolls & Soulja Boy are music making geniuses! Record labels & the mainstream music industry have nothing to do with radio play. Its all about pure talent.

Too see Tavis pimping Prince's new disc just because Prince gave him $225,000 : pathetic. How much did Prince make from the recent LA gigs? Wasn't that $5 million? So Prince gave Tavis 5% of what he made from ONE NIGHT.

I keep forgetting youre a part time psychic too, its amazing you know what was netted during that weekend after costs were paid.

Yeah, cuz Margie Cox, the members of the Family & the Time have no ability to form their own bands under their own names and write their own music and put it out independently or with a major music label... That makes a lot of sense. Bart you stun me again with your brilliance. How do you do it? hrmph

Wow, I normally just read your hate laced rants and keep on moving but you are really just a angry little man, aren't you? Is hate all that you have left or do you think it is your job to take down Prince with your mighty pen? What is your plan to accomplish this lofty goal? I'm wondering what Prince could have possibly done to you for you to have this much venom after all these years that I have been on here that you still come to the site to sestroy his work. You really have some anger issues but I hope that you have a nice day. lol

Good question. I'm happy that Prince gave to a charity and it seems like he matched the proceeds. That's something to be giving props to Prince for. Since when was giving a bad thing?

This post is proof that Prince could do something really amazing or even heroic like save a baby from a burning building and people like Bart and quite a number of you in here will finds a way to bitch about it and make it look like he was out to kill the child instead of saving the child. Some real class right there.

Really Bart...
Anyone that feels so negatively towards Prince's work, yet still feels the need to continuously attempt to entertain us with his immature idiocies on a PRINCE fan site....has to be an idiot.
