Dance 4 Me The first time I heard the track, I thought P had ditched his morals.
"The whole fucking congregation..."

He sings about licking someone up and down, round and round on Elixer. I think that's more than enough to indicate Prince's morals.

his new schtick is that nasty music is okay for life partners. it's time for a new direction / it's time for jazz to die

People that really have moral standards won't understand what Prince is referring 2. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

That's not moral standards, that's called deafness. Most of the uptight people that go on about "moral standards" will be the first ones to complain about a song saying "he licks her" over and over again.

c'mon, u can't hear that he's saying FUNKY CONGREGATION!
however, i'm still uncomfortable with the Hallelujahs in the song. but that could be me struggling with my own "false dichotomy" of the secular and sacred.

This is the catchiest song he's done in a decade!
I love dancing to it [Edited 4/2/09 14:36pm] If you will, so will I

"make me wanna pick up maracas and just shake!" . yeah, i wasn't feeling this track at first (i know folks dig all the "hallelujah"s and whatnot, but it's kinda corny to me, really ), but it's grown on me considerably. funky little throwaway track . the last minute or two, it really gets going and me likey alot . MPLSound = classic prince album, imo. that whole thing is the business! life's a bitch, but god forbid the bitch divorce me...

I do like it, but also have a problem with the hallelujahs in it....just doesn't seem right. Please don't praise God for some chick getting you "hot" while she shakes it for you.
But the song is funky. Every time I hear it though, I'm reminded of Roger/Zapp's "I Can Make You Dance." Kind of the same beat and context.
