Just received an email from HMV customer service...

A quick update on your order for the forthcoming Prince release of
'Lotusflow3r'.

Just to let you know, the release date of this title has now been delayed
slightly to Monday 13th April 2009. In line with our pre-order offer, you
should therefore expect to receive the 3CD set on this revised date (UK
customers only - overseas customers should receive item within 5-7 days of
shipment).

Please accept our apologies for the delay, but we are sure it will be worth
the wait.

Cant seeing this dropping on our door steps on the 13th or the next day. HMV always say that and u dont get it until a week later.

I had this message too and I'm pissed off! I did wonder though if it was only for the pre-orders. If it's available in the shops on the 6th I'll cancel mine and just go buy it the old fashioned way!

I'm not paying £29.99, that's ridiculous. If this was an official UK release and that extra cost was going to Prince, it would be one thing. But it isn't.

HMV will have ordered a bulk amount from Target for less than what Target sells them to customers for, and fair enough theres a shipping charge, but that much markup is a joke. I'll have my in-laws in Oregon ship me a copy over. I had my lotusflow3r t-shirt sent to their address so to avoid the shipping charge so I'll just get them to pick up a CD too.

For anyone considering paying HMV that ridiculous amount - I suggest you buy it off eBay USA instead. Even if you paid $15 bucks for it and the shipping charge was $15, that's still much less than HMV want.

Hoorah for me. I've got 3 copies coming in at the weekend. It's great to have work colleagues visiting Indianapolis this week.

mmm thts strange l had the same emailed to let me knw the date has been postphoned till 13th
but l still already paid £12.99 so they cant change the price if l already paid for mine.....

Have now had an email saying it's on it's way... Will probably be saturday or tuesday... I'm sure I can wait...

it debuted at number one (or two) in the US because it all came out on the same day, the CD, the download, the lot! in the Uk, most prince fans that cannot afford the website subscription will download it for free - it wont be number one in the UK or EU. although that does not particularly matter, what does matter is that Prince has no fucking idea about how to make money. he should employ me as his financial advisor.

If you have an Amazon A/C uk you can order via Amazon.com US who are selling it via 3rd party on their site but it's cheaper and it got Amazon behind it so its safer than ebay for your money....
