Love that verse!

That is TRULY one of most beautifully heart wrenching songs he's ever done, and I go WAY back.

One of the few that really chokes me up. I guess I can relate 2 it, but also, the song is well written and executed. The music is beautiful.

The execution is my greatest torment.

cant say i got any Barbara Streisand moments from that song...

One of my absolute favorites!

I love this song too, but for the life of me I can't figure out what song the acoustic guitar reminds me of. It sounds/feels very familiar. Help, anyone?

Was just listening to this on the way home. I love this song its sincere and sweet....he's not sure...but the melody is soothing and upbeat.

I listen to this song the most. I love the linn drum effects and when I hear people say he tried to bring back that old sound but wasn't successful in making it sound right I fully disagree mainly because of this song. I really love the parts of this song when the synthesizers sound like they are playing backwards if you know what I mean. Those are the parts that make me get the most attached to this particular song. I wonder how much time he spent making this song cuz to me it will be a classic!

I have been thinking this for some time as well. Fantastic song; arrangement and production.

IMO this is classic Prince; in the sense that he is unique with his production and arrangement. The clipped, backwards hook works fantastically and adds further dimension.

Here encapsulates the very essence of why I became a fan in the first place all those yrs ago.

For those who disagree that any of this album has that mpls sound updated - here it is rgight there, to my ears at any rate.

Ok it's a nice song... but far from its best ! Reminds me of "space" somehow. Nice words, sweet, soft, cool... not too hot nor too cold... a good average love song ?

There are a few on Lotus that I love more, but on MPLS, this is the one.

Its grown on me too. Good old fashioned Prince ballad. Hes great at them.

It's an OK ballad, but not my fave track on MPLSound. prefer: "Never B Another Like Me", "Chocolate Box", "Dance 4 Me", "Valentina" & "Ol' Skool Company" from that CD.

I must admit i always skip it . it's alright but when i listen to mplsound i'm down to get funky , and have fun not mushy.
