You got it right, Prince is in love with a very lucky woman. I cried like a baby when I heard this song because its coming straight from his heart. "If you can learn to open your eyes underwater, you and me wont drownd without eachother, I promise ill see you on the other side if you just believe in me and trust this ride" What do you think it means?

I disagree. The song that is more heartfelt is Better With Time.

This song intro with its goofy intro is trying to be Stevie Wonder but not making it.

The lyrics on this song and 4Ever REEEK of I love you, but Im a commitment phobe.

I love you but dont worry if I never marry you now, because we got 4Ever and maybe in the After Life we'll hook up.

Not his best work.

Compared to Adore... very sad.

Better with Time and Here belong on the last album - Planet Turd.

Cheesy throwaway tunes at best.

I loved Here from the first time i heard and after a couple of days i love it even more! Music definitely is different from one person to another, somebody find the keyboards in this songs cheesy whereas for me are the best part of the song with the lyrics!

I really like "here" too...but the first time I heard it I thought it sounded like that instrumental interlude between scenes in the movie, "Under the Cherry Moon", anyone know what I'm talkin' about?

For the girl that loves him..I would hope that it meanz that he'z being a Royal T'z because...To think that Love has to wait until crossing from This breath...Into Spirit Breath...Is like saying..."I Love U so much, and when they find Noah's Ark and put it back together I'll br right there 4 Ya...Just hold on." It's a beautiful song...but it drives me bananna'z. cool

I remember the first day I heard it...

I want U Here. I don't want U Here. I want U Here. I don't want U Here.

My only reaction 2 the song when it was over was, "No." Just, "No." cool

It's the most MPLSounding song on the album. Effective use of the drum machine that doesn't copy another song (as Black Sweat did), but creates a new "Prince beat."

Someone mentioned sounding like it was a copying Stevie, and I might say that as a compliment because of the strength of the melody, something that is generally lacking in modern Prince music.

Totally effortless, but has decent lyrics and good melody, an actual chorus.

I believe it's maybe not an all-time classic, but among the caliber of something like Crucial or even 17 Days, Screams of Passion. And it's probably my choice for best composition on the album (if not my favorite performance, which might go to Wall Of Berlin)

I think it means that they can't be together right now for whatever reasons. I think the part about the other side is just letting her know don't worry about his soul he'll be in heaven with her. If they can't be together in the here and now they will be together 4ever I think the Donny Hathaway song 4 u is very telling as well. It talks about so much there that it helps you understand the relationship they have with each other like the line I loved you in a place with no space and time the love they have is deep. I would like to ponder what do ya'll think we know about this so-called girl from his recent songs? Is she real or fake what is she like?

I'm glad you said it, I competely agree. I'm just not ready to pronounce "the best song" or me yet.

Each time I listen to the three CDs, usually Elixr, MPLsound, LotusFlow3r (in that order) I love each song as a stand alone; by the end of LotusFlow3 I'm wholly satisfied.

It is a nice body of work.

good topic, I am starting to see this message in the song too, it's like he has made a decision to not be w/ her even tho he loves her to pieces. I don't understand why someone would sing about loving a person and not want to be with them. I guess the poor girl will die alone.

Its his breakup song. I love you but I'll be with you in the afterworld in the forever, right now you're not worth marrying.

Also in the vein, I love U but Eye dont trust U anymore, Damn U etc.

Backhanded love songs from a commitment phobe. lol
