Weirdest Battle Ever: Prince Vs. Keith Urban

Prince and Keith Urban are neck and neck for the No. 1 album next week ... you remember them, right?

According to Reuters, "Industry prognosticators" (haha wtf?) predict Urban's new album "Defying Gravity" will beat Prince's 3-CD set "LOtUSFLOW3R" in the battle for the No. 1 position in sales. Oh, and I don't have anything to say about those three ridiculous names Prince is using for for the triple-play collection ("MPLSoUND," "LOtUSFLOW3R" and Bria Velente's "ELIXIR") -- they do the mocking for me. I mean why not just release three separate CDs at once? Especially when burning copies to sell on planet crazy is probably a lot cheaper than down here on Earth.

Prince and Keith are expected to sell around 150,000 units each, though Urban might top out at 160,000. "LOtUSFLOW3R" would be Prince's fifth U.S. chart-topping album since his last numero uno album "3121" in 2006. Even if it doesn't claim the top spot, the triple set of discs will undoubtedly sell more than the 96,000 copies Prince's previous album "Planet Earth" snagged in 2007. Oh and on top of all that mumbo-jumbo, the CD is actually amazing, and I'm not even a big Prince fan. biggrin biggrin
Keith Urban, on the other hand, has never claimed a No. 1 spot, barely scraping a No. 3 slot for his last two releases. So here is hoping that he can lasso that position, unless Prince finds the turbo button on his rocket of whacko.

Check out the ridiculously awesome video (featuring my favorite rapper of all time Q-Tip) for Prince's first single "Chocolate Box." biggrin
