I know this thread is an April Fool's joke, but I bet there is a tour. Nowadays, it's the only way for Prince to cash in on his work.
Let me see if I can figure out what Prince can make without a tour. All my numbers are guesses and arbitrary projections, but I tried to be as conservative towards Prince as possible: Sales of "Lotusflow3r" set = 200,000 X $7/unit to Prince = $1.4 million PLUS: Lotusflow3r.com memberships = 50,000 X $50/membership net to Prince = $2.5 million INCOME (rounded) = $4 million His expenses are whatever it cost to record the CDs. (I netted out the expense to create/maintain the Lotusflow3r.com website, which is how I came to $50 net per membership to Prince.) Again, this is a wild-ass, pulled-out-of-thin- air guess. 30 songs X $25,000/song recording expenses = $750,000 NET INCOME = $3.25 million Not a bad year, but about 1/10th of what he can make with a tour. IMHO. | |
