RS has become one of the worst magazines ever. It may as well be the Entertainment Weekly of music magazines.

then mention a box set at the end called 'Too Much of a Good Thang'

are they serious or is this just April Fool's joke?

"What really hamstrings the album, though, is a four-song sequence in the middle: Two syrupy ballads, one overlong tribute to Valente and one Caribbean-inflected number that sounds like a Smoove B seduction."

Perfect description of MPLSound - after the opening trio I'm already hitting skip all the way through to Ol Skool Company.

what's wrong with EW? it's one of the better if not the best industry mags for industry outsiders

and they are VERY supportive of prince on top of that

it does slow down too much in the middle, yes, but eventhough i don't
like the track at all, it will be easy to just shift chocolate box to
start after "here", thus cutting that lull in the middle neatly in 2,
with an almost 6 minute fast track.

the 3 first songs are a bit too much for my taste as well. there is no
room to breathe and they all seem to blend into each other. especially
"dance 4 me" suffers from this since it comes after the other two and
if it's the second song it grabs your attention a bit more, as it should
since it's one of the best songs on the album.

01. [there'll never b] another like me
02. dance 4 me
03. u're gonna c me
04. here
05. chocolate box
06. valentina
07. better with time
08. ol' skool company
09. no more candy 4 u

there. that runs more along the lines of classic prince albums
with an opener, a mid/fast tempo, a ballad, something off beat
something fast etc etc.
and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

they actually used to be great and had excellent writers but now they have just become good material to read on an airplane

one of their writers - Toure - is always following Prince around kinda like Cornell West or Tavis Smiley so there is usually some news about Prince in there somewhere

i mean they give mplsound more stars than lotusflw3r and 2 stars more than U2? gotta be kidding
