I don't think they have a leg to stand on considering none of them have any talent (except The Click Five which is a pretty fun band)

i don't really believe most of the drama on this board is about talent. people have deep emotional problems and use prince as a messiah figure to explore their own issues.

for example, if someone were to say, "prince is shit," it wouldn't affect prince's talent at all. but there would be some folks who would experience a sharp pain in their chest as if they had been stabbed.

GB was the first prince album i ever edited, and later became an album i really disliked. Even now i get embarrassed thinking about it, but almost 10 yrs later he delivered Rave, which sort of displaced GB from its perch of failure.

I don't know....I think you might be underestimating GB's mediocrity. cool

I'd pit GB's crud against Rave's crud any day of the week!

I think the non-Prince songs on GB are some of his worst ever.

I'm always surprised when people say they don't like this album. It has a lot of great songs. The only song I for sure don't like is the new version of Tick, Tick, Bang (I love the original 80s version, though; I wish he had recorded it like that.)

It beats the pants off anything from Chaos and Disorder, Rave, Emancipation, The Rainbow Children, Musicology, 3121, or Planet Earth.

It never ceases to amaze me the breadth of opinion on his albums. Suffice to say I disagree big time with this one. biggrin

I believe I might have said that somewhere hrmph
As I've told a bunch of people, I'm stuck on campus for another month. And I don't have a car and can't get to my local Target.
I've dropped a hint or two to my folks, so maybe that'll be my first graduation present beg

I'm lucky a friend sent the tracks to me or I'd be bouncing off the walls cuz I can't get to any of the new music.

As for the comparsion of this album to others from the 90's and 00's, I can't really comment just yet cuz I haven't it enough times.
Right now, I'm just been trying to disprove that it's not better than Planet Earth because someone won't leave me alone about that hrmph

Nearly all of his albums, I'm crazy about. I might give you that it is better than Rave, but that's as far as I can go right now lol
had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone
