I actually think Bria's CD is much better than both of Prince's CDs. I know Prince is all over Bria's CD. You can tell Prince has probably wrote 100% of the Music and wrote 100% of her lyrics. With that said, I think her CD is much better.

I think Prince music has greatly improved as far as the mere Music. His lyrics on the other hand, are about as cheesy as the Jonas Brothers.

If Prince can let Bria shine on her own, she will be a big star. But we all know the Fate of Prince's past proteges.

I still will always check out Prince's latest concert hoping that he plays his classics.

IMO, Bria's CD is NOT better than both of Prince's CD's. Prince hit a Grand Slam Home Run for me with these Lotus and MPLS BUT I like Bria's CD more than I thought I would. In fact, it's growing on me. "Kept Woman" and "Another Boy" were in my head when I woke up this morning so it's making an impact on me. It's a cool CD that deserves props. I really hope that Bria will get her day to shine so that we can see what she can do on a stage. I'm not holding my breath but it would be nice.

When the CDs first came out on the Web, everyone seemed to be trashing her CD. I think it is a good CD. I hope it gets radio airplay. That's the only way she will get credit. Because as far as CD sales I'm sure Prince will get all the credit.

Don't you guys agree that Prince's music as funky as "Sign of the Times" but the lyrics are way too Cheesy. That's the funky sounds prince has had in a while.

He must be way too happy in his life. He has lost his edginess.

I truly like his darker days. His music was on point.

I'll grant that the music on Elixer has solid production, but if Bria were left on her own she'd have to compete with the likes of Goapele, Amel Larrieux, Dwele, Ursula Rucker, Rhian Benson, Pru, India.Arie, and a slew of others. I have to say that Bria's album is surprisingly good. HOWEVER, all that really means is Prince was in the MF'n zone throughout the creation of the entire "LotusFlow3r" project!

I feel bad for Tamar...she was promoted like a mofo and had a great voice, yet BOTH of her albums (the one with Prince and her latest album) was placed on the back burner! My mom asked me to burn these cds for her, but she failed to realize when she joined the site she got these as a bonus. She became a Prince Fan all over again on Sat night. She couldn't keep her eyes off of Prince. She was blessed with the "front" row able to see his swag view.

Bria's Cd is more cohesive than Prince's..but it ain't better. I think he did exactly what he set out to do. Make a smooth R&B album in the vain of Sade and Anita Baker. All this Love and Here I come are fantastic..no one is making music like that anymore.

What is not to like about the Bria cd? Guess what? It is a Prince album, Bria is singing main vocals, Prince wrote the music, his vocals are all over the place, he is playing the instruments, etc. This is no less a Prince album than Lotusflow3r or Mplsound, yet people discounted this the second it was released because he wasnt singing main vocals and bria's name was on it?? crazy... The same people that trashed this, without listening to it at all, or maybe the first 3 seconds of each track, are now coming back to praise it (nobody specific in mind, just in general I have seen this)

How this CD could be thrown aside so quickly by most is beyond me.....I find it very hard to believe that anyone who appreciates Prince could not love this album if actually given a proper listen, which for anything is at least 2 times through in my opinion.

I judge each release independently and the quality of Elixir is amazing. Just so there are no accusations of purple cool-aid here, new power soul has 2 good tracks, come on and the one. The best release out of that new power trio was the album Prince did for Chaka, Come 2 My House is one fantastic record! I bet this one was never given a shot by most as well for the same reasons stated above. *NOTE: I am not comparing these two vocally, just talking about the quality of the music itself on both of those CD's.

Prince really outdid himself this time, for me this is the best quality work he has done in years. We are very fortunate that he keeps choosing to share his material with us, in just 6 months we have 4 albums from him, not to shabby!

now we just need a "vault" section on the new site where we can download some unreleased stuff

When I heard Prince sing Creep, it game me chills. I loved it and I love Radioheads version. Prince should come out with an album of just covers. I would buy it in a heartbeat.

That being said, how you could put Chaka and Bria in the same posting is beyond me. I love Come 2 My House... but that's not just because it features some of Prince's best production work, but because of Chaka's amazing voice and presence on the record.

That being said, props for Bria... to my ears she's taking her voice as far as it can go. It might not be far, but it was far enough to cut a Prince record, so you go Bria, do your thing. While you can.
