Quantity vs Quality Let me start by saying this is simply my personal opinion/taste and that I respect all others (just in case anyone flames me)...
Since 2004 Prince has delivered (not counting live album): Musicology = 12 songs 3121 = 12 songs Planet Earth = 10 songs LotusFlow3r = 12 songs MPLSound = 9 songs Along with the following tracks for download (not counting demos/alternate versions or live tracks): Magnificent, Silver Tongue, United States of Division, Glass Cutter, SST, Brand New Orleans, Happy Feet, FUNK, Turn Me Loose (okay TV performance only but he *could* have released that one). Total = 64 songs There has been much debate on the ORG about the various merits of all these songs, and it will obviously come down to personal taste (and level of expectation - unrealistic or otherwise). However, for ME I will take this level of quantity any day because it allows me to use MY TASTE to put together what I think make THREE excellent albums over the same time period (the beauty of iTunes is that you no longer have to mess around with making tapes - yes I am that old). The three albums I would make are as follows: 3121 1. 3121 2. Lolita 3. Black Sweat 4. Te Amo Corazon 5. The Marrying Kind 6. If Eye Was The Man In Ur Life 7. Love 8. Call My Name 9. What Do U Want Me 2 Do 10. Fury 11. The Word 12. Beautiful Loved And Blessed 13. The Dance 14. Dear Mr Man 15. Reflection. Planet Earth 1. Guitar 2. Cinnamon Girl 3. Somewhere Here On Earth 4. The One U Wanna C 5. The Lion Of Judah 6. Future Baby Mama 7. Mr Goodnight 8. Chelsea Rogers 9. A Million Days 10. On The Couch 11. Resolution 12. Planet Earth. Lotusflow3r 1. From the Lotus 2. Boom 3. Crimson and Clover 4. The Morning After 5. 4ever 6. Colonized Mind 7. Feel Good, Feel Better, Feel Wonderful 8. Dance 4 Me 9. Wall of Berlin 10. $ 11. Here 12. Dreamer 13. Back to the Lotus. I think all of the above sequence very well and make rock solid albums. Then a fanclub only download(s) as follows (not thought about sequencing here so this is chronological): Musicology Illusion Coma Pimp & Circumstance Life O The Party United States of Division Magnificent Silver Tongue Glass Cutter SST Brand New Orleans Incense And Candles Get On The Boat Satisfied All The Midnights In The World F.U.N.K Turn Me Loose (There’ll Never B) Another Like Me Chocolate Box Love Like Jazz U’re Gonna C Me 77 Beverley Park Valentina Better with Time Ol’ Skool Company No More Candy 4 U. So what would your 1 or 2 or 3 etc albums be? 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything. | |

that is interesting, i like indigo nights, coz i was at both of those shows, after 25 yrs of being a fan, it was nice to have actually attended something he released If it were not for insanity, I would be sane.
