I love Lotusflow3r and MPLSound, but why does iTunes hate them?

I can't find anything on this through the search engine, so forgive me if it's been discussed before. In addition, I haven't been to the .Org in forever. (So, fuck off if you don't like this thread! eek )

I ripped both new Prince albums to my iTunes right away, after getting my CD set from Target in the mail. But there seems to be an issue with them both. Every song cuts off too early. I didn't do anything differently than I usually do when ripping something to iTunes...i.e., I didn't fuck with the "continuous sequencing" option or whatever it is. At first, I thought this was due to the fact that songs are meant to flow right into the next one. But a) they didn't always flow naturally and b) the last song on each album ends prematurely.

Does anyone else have this problem? Is there something different I need to do in iTunes? I would play the CDs through my computer to see if this is a problem on the discs themselves, but I'm too lazy to hook up my damn speakers.

Please help an .Org old-timer figure this shit out. Are the songs meant to be clipped off early? Is this a compatibility issue with iTunes? Did someone fuck up with the CD authoring? WTF?!?!?

I haven't even gotten around to playing the songs on iTunes, but this seemed the appropriate thread to mention something else:

Is it just me (my iTunes) but does iTunes not recognize the songs from the CD? When I put the CD in, the track titles do not show up... just "Track 01" "Track 02" etc.

iTunes recognized both albums for me. Weird.

Delete them and try importing the again. Also try going to your itunes preferences. Click the general tab then click the import settings button. And then check the box to use error correction. It slows the import speed down. Hope this helps. If you have it checked already just delete and try again.

Be sure you are connected to the internet when importing the disc. And check the box in the general tab that automatically retrieves the cd track names. All this is in the itunes preferences.

Try ripping the CDs with a different program before transferring to iTunes

Shit, man. The time I spend ripping "Elixer" through multiple programs will be more than the time I spend listening to this ass-dropping of an album. But I'll take that plunge for the 2 Prince CDs if I have to...

I noticed the same thing with iTunes on mine as well. And my computer asks if I want a gap between tracks and a few tracks. I selected 'none' rather than 1-3 second and now the tracks flow from one to the other. The guitars to 'Colonized Mind' are still ringing as 'Feel Good, Feel Better, Feel Wonderful' starts 2 boot up.
