we all know how prince feels about record companies but why couldnt he do the same deal as he did with 3121...a one off release with prince keeping all the rights to his work...i dont see the sense in cutting out his intenational fan base who are trying to get imports from various places...surely he is losing money by doing this...it doesnt make any sense to me....it all the more annoying when the lotusflow3r disc is his best work in nearly 15 years and half his fanbase cant buy it ????

I wonder if the release of Planet Earth via the Mail on Sunday is now causing problems relating to any European record companies touching his new releases. My understanding was that Planet Earth was originally going to be released by a major label in Europe but they got burnt at the last minute when Prince got a better offer with the Mail.

It such a shame to have to go the ebay route to get the album. He has a strong following in Europe and Lotusflowe3r is getting some very good reviews.

Have any specifics relating to the target deal been released? Is it a worldwide exclusive?

The Target deal is US only ...so he could do a deal in Europe and the Rest of the World....it looks like he may have done a deal with HMV but the price of £29.99 is crazy even for an import

HMV sold The Sunday Mail Newspaper when all the rest of the UK music industry was against Prince for doing the deal with the mail...this could be the reason why they HMV are selling LotusFlow3r...it was a good business deal....

The industry had the chance to push 3121 in the UK and they failed that's why Prince went for the Mail on Sunday deal.....
