Dare I say it....

...but Prince has still got it!!

After album after album of dissapointment - starting with New Power Soul and all the way up to Planet Earth - this new CD set (minus elixer) finally shows why I follow Prince after all these years -- the new CD has new sounds, new twists, new styles, and is the same funk in fresh packaging. It's brilliant. For the first time since probably Exodus or Gold, I got excited hearing the new CD's. "Hey Valentina" is just amazing. Then, "Dance 4 Me" is even better. Then, I switch CD's and here Feel Better, Feel Good.... and am blown away once more. Ahhhh so nice. Emancipation came close to me - but the rubbery production tempered my excitement. This one is everything I want from a Prince record. FINALLY.

oh....seeing his lives shows at Conga Room and Nokia Theatre also solidified it for me - he's BACK to performing great music!

I say he's still got it, but to me, he never lost it.
I love TRC, NEWS, One Night Alone piano, and at least half of 3121 and Planet Earth.
The only album I was extremely disappointed in was Musicology. There is hardly anything on there that compels me to revisit it.

With that being said, these albums are definetly better than anything he has done this decade, and on par with most of the nineties output.

I think the reaction on this board alone proves this. I have never seen the level of approval for a new Prince album here like I have for Lotus/MPLSound.
He is exactly who we thought he was

Tell me something I dont already know!
Tho, I disagree that he has had dissapointment after dissapintment after NPS, TRC/3121/Musicology had some good cuts on em...but yes,I would agree this may be his best complete work since GOLD.
Im loving all the tracks on Lotus and MPLS,,,havent really listened to Bria's tracks yet.....He has always had it on stage...never lost it there.

This May will be 10 yrs since I joined the Org and in those 10 years, I've NEVER seen such positive feedback from ANY Prince album released in this timeframe and it's strange as hell to see. I almost don't know what to do with myself seeing so many fans like at least one of the CD's. I always hoped I'd see so many fans like a project but it's surreal right now and it's answered prayer too. I hope that this is the beginning of something new for all of us, including Prince with this project. Whatever this moment is for us, I'm gonna ride it till the wheels fall off! cool
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

This album was complete ear candy for me.....I haven't felt this much joy with Prince since I was 15 feet away from him at the Musicology concert! No that is a lie...when I go the 21 Night book there is a photo in there that made me close to book....waaay too much lusting was happening!!! LOL I was CHEESING when I heard Crimson and Clover!!! I wanted to hold my car lighter up that shit sounded so good! I almost ran two lights though which wasn't good at all. I came to a full stop but started to daydream about the visuals and let my foot come off the brake a lil.... lol lol I know it's ridiculous but a sista' was waiting fo THAT feeling again and it came ten fold!!!!!

MR. NELSON B-R-A-V-O!!!!! wink
