What if this 3 disc format was used to get Vanity 6 and The Time out there?

I remember buying What Time Is It?, Vanity 6, and 1999 - on vinyl - in 1983. I had all 3 posters on my bedroom wall and I saw the Triple Threat tour twice. Of course there was no way to package 3 CDs like LotusFLow3r back then. In fact, when CDs where released a few years after 1999, they couldnt fit both records on one disc and left off DMSR. Think of how funky a 3 disc set with those 3 albums in it would have been? I think packaging Bria with 2 Prince albums is yet another innovative marketing move from Prince.

I agree, for that 1999 era! That 3 disc format would have been great, in my opinion. I think the 1999, Vanity 6, and What Time Is It album in a 3 disc package would have been great even if they did it just 2 promote the Triple Threat/1999 Tour because the music worked 2gether. Music from The Time went well with Prince's music and Vanity 6's music. Just like the Purple Rain era, the music worked 2gether. This would have been great 4 several Prince albums at the time of their release but, not all of them. Certain eras were great and they fit perfect. The Prince and related projects released in 1982 is a great way 2 describe the tour 2 come.

I think of the proteges that really didnt get a fair shot and how this kind of bundling would have helped them. THink about Mazarati getting its first album in there with Parade. Or even the Madhouse or Jill Jones albums.

Yeah that would have been great

He wanted something like that for Purple Rain: an inclusion of Purple Rain, Ice Cream Castles & Apollonia 6

He seemed to have had a lot of ideas for the Purple Rain project
Lust U Always
Possessed
Our Destiny (Roadhouse Garden?)
G-Spot
So many songs recorded from that time, along with Sheila E/Glamorous Life

2 me Jill Jones album felt like Parade/Dream Factory, even though some of the music was made during the Purple Rain sessions

Parade, Mazarati, the Family, Jill Jones & Sheila E.
