And when i come to think about:
4ever has a certain 'poppy' appeal and syrupness to it, that reminds me of his last real big hit: the Most Beautifull Girl in the world. Not that these two songs really sound alike, but somehow I can see this become a hit. Its a tune that gets into your head after repeated listenings.

Do I like either of them? ... No.
Could they be hits? Doubtful. But then again Fergie's "London Bridge" was a hit. Likewise for Spice Girls "Wanna Be". ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

dance 4 me would get my vote, but here's the thing..prince has 2 make the effort 2 push them out there as well. and not just on his website. there r 2 videos up but who has seen them outside of those paying 4 the website?
the only way these songs could get in2 rotation on radio these days, is if prince were 2 go on say tom joyner or steve harvey and do a radio interview and have these songs played on the air. man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

That's hot right there! I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I have to agree. It's criminal that these videos are done and playing ONLY on his website. They need to be out there for ALL to see, not just a select few, i.e. the fans. I think that they are strong candidate for single, but I feel 4Ever is right up there, sappiness & all. Dance4Me may get the most air time if it hits the radio. Prince's Sarah

There are at least 6 or 7 songs between the two albums that could be hits if it received enough promotion, and certainly more deserving than other artists with stuff out right now.
Hell, after listening closer to the Bria Valente album (an album I'm not really all that thrilled about still), there are 2 songs that could be made into hits. It's not a matter of material--Prince wrote material worthy of hits this time around--it's about the promotional machine.

You're right promotion is key. Michael Jackson's last 3 albums sold based on promotion alone. Even the supposed lackluster sales of some of them really translated to 2 or 3 million copies. So yeah--promotion is key.
